A piece for my Illustration Studio class. We were all divided into groups by table that we sit at, and each group had to come up with a theme. The themes were switched for the groups, and we had to come up with a black and white lineart piece in ink for it. My group recieved the theme of "fashion", so this is what I came up with. I'll be putting this one in my portfolio for my application to the Visual Communications department, to see if I'll be able to say with honesty that I'm an Illustration major.
I tried to show my thought processes for the piece, as best I could...though I mostly keep my thinking in my head.

After all those notes and sketches and getting David Bowie stuck in my head a lot, I drew this preliminary sketch of what I wanted the final to look like, and check how it would work. I then copied it (by sight) to my piece of bristol board and drew the final.

I love the Model sheep = gloden calf concept. this is a really dynamic piece fro what you were assigned. The lack of outlines makes it all...eyetricky which is perfect.

Yes...having Bowie in your head is not good...especially if it means you absoloutely must start singing it wherever you are. Such as a public library.
