Tomorrow, Today is Gone

Apathy
total and utter antipathy
drifting
and the days blur
like the lights of the city
when you're driving too fast
you can't even see the path
you can't even remember the past
in a daze
like a remembrance of tomorrow
a purple haze
Would Jimi be proud?
I can't even follow
when my mind goes blank
and I'm feeling so hollow
like a voodoo doll
unaware it's being used
like a matinee puppet
so thoroughly abused
and I can't even imagine a day
that could come my way
and not be swallowed
by the behemoth that is named my past
throughtly un-hallowed
it's a tainted altar
in the temple of my mind
My body defiled
by my own desire
for the 'easy' life.

Der Sensenmann Says:

This strikes me on a deep, personal level. It causes me some emotional discomfort, but that's just because it's good writing.
I love it. Please, continue your work.
