Kosumi, my ringtail RP char. I'll uh.... just paste the stuff I put on DA because I'm too lazy to type up new stuff.... Although I have some other info on his school and stuff. Might as well stick that in too. It's quite long. Please don't feel obligated to read it unless you are very.... VERY bored.

Carlington High, the pride of the Cloverwood suburbs, built not four years past, stands as an ediface of a high standard of education to the community and an object of suppression to the many schoolchildren that went to it. Whichever position a person might take, one couldn't help but call it magnificent.

Kansas P. Carlington (so named for his great Grandfather who had owned an enormous portion of that bland state) grew up in the sunny streets of Cloverwood, a high end community forever trying to combat the encroachment of Cypress City, which surrounded them, now, on three sides. Things were not so crowded, then, nor so busy, but, for the love of his home and for people in general (for he was a philanthropist of sorts), he donated quite a tidy sum to the little district for the purposes of building a new high school, as the old one was fairly near bursting at the seams, and they'd spared no expense.

Huge and modern, the lofty buildings looked more like a disengaged piece of the college campus that rested to the south of the city, than a high school. Every classroom was equipped with new books, new materials, a television for school broadcasts and movies, not to mention the most qualified teachers; there was a pool, a gym with more equipment than a highschool phys. ed. department would ever need, a race track, the list went on. Outside, it the landscape was maticulously sculpted and bedecked with ornamental trees and flowers, which bloomed wonderfully in the springtime, and well into summer. During fall, the desiduous trees took over, their bright leaves becoming flowerlike and brilliant under the prussian sky or grey sleet of autumn clouds and rain.

But to the children who went there, it was just another school--a great, big, gigantic school, but a school all the same, to suck up their time and break up their fun. There were few who appreciated it, save the teachers and staff and, perhaps, Kosumi.

Kosumi Kono, a lifetime resident of Cloverwood. He looked often to the new school throughout the stages of construction, gazing at it through great, sapphire eyes, curious, excited, and daunted. "You'll go there one day," his big brother would say to him, as they cruised down the long street that passed it. "I didn't get to, but you will, you know? It's gonna be great. I hear they're going to make a swimming pool and everything!" "Yeah!" Kosumi would say, his heart a flutter with possibilities that seemed very grown-up in his mind. Like his brother. But by the time his first year at Carlington started, he was hardly enthused. In fact, he dreaded it.

Ever since Dyami left, he didn't really have the heart for much. "Stand up for yourself!" Dyami had always told him before he left for his promising new school career in Chile. But it didn't seem to do much good, so he stopped trying. He never cared to join in on the competative rituals of malehood, but now he grew taciturn and avoided everyone. The crueler boys saw him as an easy target, and picked on him when they could, proving their manhood to each other and to the world at his expense. He folded in on himself, turning to poetry, books, anything that kept his mind off of the real world which grew more daunting and terrible everytime he happened to look back to it. The world seemed to constantly tell him that everything he was and did was wrong, but he couldn't be someone he wasn't. So he hid himself away, avoiding his peers.

"There's something wrong with that boy!" his father would say in a booming voice as soon as he'd slunk in the front door of their big apartment and went, wordlessly into his room. His mother would defend him in her quiet, passive way, but father always won any argument, in the end, whether he was right or no, and neither of them had much heart to fight when he was in a passion.

Home wasn't the haven it might have been, nor was any place, and so school was no more or less terrible to Kosumi than anywhere else. schoolwork, he didn't mind in the least. It came easy to him, and learning was a pleasure, not a chore. So long as he wasn't being singled out for torment by his peers, he enjoyed reading in the quiet classrooms with big windows he could gaze out of, or wandering the expansive grounds at recess. He was most often found where other people weren't, which unfortunately made him more noticable than he would like to have been. People would wonder about the silver-haired youth who didn't seem to talk to anyone, and who would come wandering out of some thicket, unannounced, just as the schoolbell rang.

Although, adolesence made him self-concious and pessimistic concerning his idea of what other people thought of him, he was quite attractive in the gangly, somewhat akward way of his age group. His beautiful tail, the most characteristic part of him, he felt too big and puffy, his hair he let grow down in front of his face to hide himself, especially when the easy tears came to his eyes. In class and in the halls, he spent much of his time trying to appear invisible, but it was hard with such a striking appearance, light in color for his species, and the only ringtail in his school. Even his people's cousins, the raccoons, didn't possess such an enormous tail and huge ears, and there was a number of those around. His fondest wish--to go along his way unnoticed, often went ungranted.
