The Smallest Taste...

An illustration I did last night for Angelica Pierce's Inuyasha one-shot, "Something Real" [(http://www.adultfanfiction.net/aff/story.php?no=544183565) careful, it's citrus] in which after being treated especially cruely by the residents of a village he and Kagome are staying in, he goes off on a painful rant about what it is to be a hanyou. Afterwards, Kag wants to show him that no matter what the rest of his world thinks, she accepts him with no reservations. To quote the fic:

Tentative fingertips came up to faintly caress his lips. His mouth parted ever so slightly upon contact and the mere fact that he didn't pull away was taken as a sign that it was okay to continue. The digits moved to the side as she rose, and she hesitated for a part of a second after every inch of progress made. Her throat ran completely dry, making her breath come harsher to her, even as her heart steadily increased its tempo from sheer and unmitigated excitement.

Her eyes drifted semi closed just as her sensitive lips came into the briefest of contact with his. It was as though she didn't want to admit that it was a kiss right away. She tilted her head slightly to allow a second brush against him, this time actually managing to get the smallest taste of him on her mouth. She opened her mouth to breathe, brushing a third time before finally puckering to complete the action.

I've read this fic several times and always loved that moment because it was so hesitant and tender. I just finally got around to getting it on paper last night.
