Bone Cold

it would be so much easier
you told me not to become bitter
and take the sadness and torrents
erect no umbrella against the rain
and in the bone cold sleep.

Walking down the avenue
it's a sea of black umbrellas
on a bone cold day
in this grey, grey life
And from the penthouse I watch
this open window
staining black umbrellas.

When I was young, it was different
I saw the world with eyes of a child
and therein I was happy
and clueless to the gathering clouds
irresponsible and at a loss
for words and for heart
No shortage of fortitude
but pressing forward with a broken arm
a broken heart
Running on battery, not fuel
The cells died long ago.

So you tell me not to be bitter
But if I could exchange it I would
These bitter tears for blessed hate
so irrational and irresponsible
but it's not my kind
That's not my name you're speaking
and the words are foreign manuscript.
But translate!
I beg, you please!
Please.. on broken knees
a broken heart
I beg of you this last wish

Unrequited is the title of this verse
and unrecognized the last
in the definition lies the strike
and struck a chord somewhere deep
in abandoned hollows
these halls so empty and lonely
and crying out for one stray glance
shake so solemny against my sinning step
On these grounds that I have no rights to
And I can stake no claim...

Long ago, monotone came purposefully
and I remember from time to time...
The grass is green because I remember it so
and that sky that stretched on past your shoulders
The face the broke the treaties
and trespassed...

Please translate this for me.
Please hold it close to a breaking heart
This is the lament for what has passed
and what has yet to come.
Hold this close to salty lips
So seldom kissed by reason and understanding
This is the torment for living without restraint
So unapologetic
And you thought you were free!

Somewhere long ago, he died
treking through impossible depths
and bone cold snow
and bled his last desires
so eagerly absorbed by the earth
And I wonder now
if I could ever find you
standing there
The red and black among the white field
So out of place
and so beautiful to me...

Another poem of mine.. This one's SUPER hard to share. So personal. But I'm going through a cleansing right now. I'm gonna come clean, and this is part of it. :)

THE PICTURE IS NOT BY ME. It is by my dear, dear, DEAR friend Chax. He is an AWESOME artist, and you should GO VISIT HIS GALLERY... http://suicidalpanda.deviantart.com

nicely done.

Blink Says:

Hmm... kinda hard to know what to say about a poem like that. =(

It's good... and creates the impression of somebody who's lost, but lost with purpose. Very interesting, though I dare not ask what inspired it.

maRIK COSSman Says:

still VERY cool....
