FULLVIEW, PLEASE. The thumbnail raped this poor thing.

Inspiration Track: "Nightbird," by Deep Forest.

I have had SOOO little free time\mojo the past couple weeks it's obscene.... as I know is the case for so many folks out there. I FEEL YOUR PAIN. The holidays are, indeed, a bitch. I was determined to enter Brianne's contest this time around, though, because I missed her last one which just... bummed me out considerabley. Any excuse to draw Brianne's characters is one hellova good excuse in my book, after all.

Anyways. I'd been pecking at this in little bits where and when I coul, and fiiiinally got the lineart done... even cooler? It ended up winning first place. Won 100 bucks for art supplies. SWEET. Thanks, Bri!

I'm admittedly biased. When she gave the opportunity to draw one of my favorite Matihao Whenua characters, her babygirl Lala, with other members of the clan (Characters by myself, ravekitten and ren52 ) I completely jumped it's bones. Plus I've been dying to draw her as it is, as I've gotten a pretty distinct mental image of her visually, based on Brianne's bio info on the character. Hense, the results here.

In the Matihao's world, Ferals, only on a very rare occassion, so strongly resemble a specific species of animal, as Lala does a Fennec (Fennic? How DO you spell that? Oi. LOL) These rarities are known as Visiaries. This makes her rare, unique, and quite the treasure in her clan's eyes... I mean, besides for the fact that she's a wholly precious gal to begin with. I see her as a new edition at this particular point (Apache's only about a year old, there) and here, she's graced with her pack's presence and love all the way around. Love for the Lala.

Pictured:
In the foreground - Lala herself.
Mid ground: Tane, Sabine (both copyright of Renee Atkinson) Cravencro, Grimm, Apache and Lakota (copyright of Mel Miller)
Background: Mercer, Reich, Acadia (Copyright of Renee Atkinson) Koura and Kael (Copyright of Kat Bongard)

Keep those fingers crossed on that color job for me, and I'll love you to bits.

Cheers,
Mel

So much detail... even look at the people in the background. Probably the best lineart I've seen on Sheezy yet :)

BEAUTIFUL lineart, well worth the six minutes the fullview took to load. The detail is incredible, especially on the background. I am quite jealous of your lovely trees. :}
