Doodle of a geung si, the "hopping vampire" of chinese folklore. Those fellows are a mixture between our western zombies and vampires. Like zombies, their body is on the verge of putrefaction, and like zombies, they don't have thoughts or intelligence. Like vampires, though, they need to feed on the energy of living beings in order to not rot anymore. Differently from western vampires, though, the geung si feeds not on the blood but directly on the vital energy of the victim (asian people are always more spiritual than us materialistic europeans) -thus they're usually represented with very long nails, their hands eternally extended forwards to grasp their preys.
The must curious thing, though, is the way a geung si moves. Not walking or lumping, but... hopping around. It might be that rigor mortis makes it difficult to move fluently, but still, it's always seemed sorta hilarious to me.... *hop hop hop hop*
