Looks like you just missed the focus on the horse and got the tree instead. Automatic focus? Ah well, doesn't matter. Also I think the background is a little light, so take care with your light measurements. Maybe a polarizing filter cap could help reduce some of the ambiance, red filter cap could help level the contrast slightly...
But anyway, I love the picture. It's a great Idea.
