This is my character Sylvan Maxwell in a flash back from his past. He was raised by rather esoteric parents, so he knows about magic and power. He's holding a wand of power that he made for himself in his left hand, since he isn't using it at the moment, just carrying it.
I'm really starting to think I ought to start trying to actually draw out the full story, but I'm hesitant to do so, I'm not a very good artist. -=sighs=- But then Arby and Chu's first panels aren't as good as thier art is now... so there maybe some hope for me in that direction.
Originally post on dA, but we know how I feel about that place now.

Since I'm moving this over from the original account I'm posting the original comments here.
esoteric Says: Proportional-wise, you're doing excellent; and the pose is promoting strength and pride in himself, I think. I definitely get the sense his hair and clothing is being blown in the wind, but they are flowing like dead weights. Hair would billow like a flag when air pushes it around, and clothing would act the same a bit. What happened to the lines you placed in the hair like in the previous version? I preferred that style better, and the hands were more expressed. The left foot should be flat instead of on tip-toe (which is how it looks even though that's probably not what you wanted). Everything seems to be in tip-top shape other than what I mentioned. ^^ Great work!

This was an earlier picture of him, I also didn't spend as much time on the details
as I did in the cover art picture.
You really are right about the foot, I hadn't thought about it too much. You're also
right about the pants and sleeves, though I drew the hair that way because he has
really thick hair and I thought it would fall that way. What do you think?

If it is thick hair he has, the put less curl in the hair, but still stick to adding
lines in the hair like you did in the Cover Art picture. I'm trying to imagine thick
hair flowing in the wind and then I remembered the day the wind pushed my hair about
(which is the thickest hair you could lay hands on). It didn't billow like light
hair but was just pushed along like dead weight -- I see where you're coming from
now.

Less Curl? Ok... I'll see what I can do.
I'm doing another drawing of him right now.
