the tengu and the shoujou are the most adorable monsters ever
(and the kappa and mujina are close seconds ) the rest are really scarey! (no face! spiders! freaky horse head! D: )

prangton Says:

Holy christ why didn't I fav this when I first saw it. The restricted palette works especially well on the tengu.

EVERY ONE OF THESE IS GOLDEN.

Dude! I love Obakemono.com! It is now Bookmark'd in my Reference tab. Yayness! I swear I've been looking for something like this for ages. Now I have a suitable reference for creatures with which to help me populate my odd story-world ideas...

Would it be too much to ask for you to attempt illustrating a Baku? I've looked for ages, but I've been able to find very little information on it, beyond that it is a monster with a lion head, a horse body and tiger feet, and that it is benign, and eats dreams. I've even found sources that say it has an elephant-like nose.
Did you already have it on your list of must-draws?
It would make me obscenely happy.
