Project Lipizzaner: Recipe

One equine skeletal frame pre-coated in pure muscle
Three maneuvers of grace
One skin of beauty
Fifty years serving as war steed
Endless amounts of awe
A look of royal nobility
Four hundred years of history
A pinch of flight

1. Stand the skeletal frame on the floor, being sure to leave yourself plenty of room to work.

2. Coat the war steed on the haunches of the horse, rubbing it all into the muscle until completely absorbed.

3. Leave to sit for three hundred years, then mix grace and nobility, drizzling most of the concoction over the fore part of the horse, especially neck and shoulders, putting a tad on the haunches for suppleness.

4. Cover with a layer of pure beauty and let rest for another hundred years.

5. Uncover and flatter with awe.

6. To finish, sprinkle flight over entire frame and step back.

I take a creative writing class in school, in which we have to write a mutli-genre book. The topic I choose was the Lipizzaner stallions featured in the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria. I have always loved Lipizzaners and am truely captivated by their inspiring beauty. Here I am giving the peices that I have written for the book.

This genre is a recipe of what 'makes up' a Lipizzaner. I feel that this gives a good general background and it's a beginning to learning if you've never heard of them.

Constructive comments appreciated!!!

Caylin Says:

...that actually gave me an idea of figuring out exactly what my story equines are made up of,in terms of history and such. I've got basics and all, some details, but never enough to satisfy myself.

I love the touch of flight bit. It's great.

moodymand Says:

wow, this is really nice work. :)

AutumnFantasy Says:

I love the Lipizanner's beauty but raising them is entirely too cruel... they chain their legs close together to make them run and jump like they do.
