I have never understood what Mew was. I never believed it was a cat or any other possible animal. It had to be something DIFFERENT. It is a VERY special Pokémon anyway, it contains the DNA of every Pokémon, and has the possibility to learn any (TM) move. Add it to the fact it's pink, small, looks "unfinished", has enormous eyes...
Yes, in my mind, Mew is a fetus. problem is, I can't draw fetuses so I couldn't give the idea well. It just came out as a deformed Mew with odd eyes.
But one thing was wanted: it has no umbilical cord or similar. Mew IS NOT going to be born, it's not inside a mother or an egg. It's already out in the world. It's a born-unborn.
Though I later thought that the "tail" could be, for real, a cut cord. So maybe in my next version, it will be that way...
Opinions welcome, though I'm sure some (most) of you Mew fans won't like this

I think theres alot of thoughts put into this. Probably even more than the authors of pokemon intended to, but seriously yeah mew leaves alot of things to think and dicuss about.
And I really like the pictures, It does look like a fetus,like its in a womb too even. Its very well done.

the thought of a fetus is pretty interesting, after you mentioned it.
gives sense to mew, that it really is a shy and agile (and floating) lifeform, else i couldn't imagine that it had "real" high defense to stay alive an attack of a predator.
