Yep, I draw shit that isn't cartoony and lame too. This is the centerpiece work of the Museum of Anthropology in UBC, about all of two minutes away from my dorm. I went down there a few times and did some drawings of Bill Reid's sculpture of myth of the Raven and the first men. Lowdown of the myth - Raven, flying around (as ravens do), spots a clamshell on the coastline. He lands to get a closer look and finds that the shell is populated with tiny men cowering inside. Raven coaxes out the inhabitants, who gradually overcome their coyness and enter the world as the first human beings. Raven plays around with them for a little while, but, again, as ravens do, Raven gets bored, noting that their aren't any females among the people. He then pries several chitons off of the rocks and throws them at the men in a way that could be considered, um, stimulating. Afterwards, these chitons reattach to the rocks and eventually give birth to what we now call the Haida tribal people.
