Run From What Evil

Kiana-Marie slowly opened her amber eyes, closing them again almost instantly. A pounding headache had developed and was now wracking her mind. After a moment she forced herself to open her eyes once more, and found herself gazing up at a dim light floating through shards of broken glass. After a moment, her memory began to gather, and remind her of what had happened.

It had been a quiet morning, that was no real surprise. Not feeling like attending her Mathematics class, Kiana-Marie had quickly slipped into one of the infrequent Janitors' Closets that lined the halls of the school. Reading. That's it, that's what she had come in here for. Now looking down at her hands, she looked upon the soaked pages of her thick book. With a large moan, she moved as if to shift her wait so as she could examine the damages to her possession. Yet as she did so, it was then she realized a large weight pinning her to the floor of the closet. Her eyes had steadily adjusted, and the teen was beginning to comprehend that this great mass was someone's body. Almost regrettably in her own mind, Kiana-Marie closed her book and placed it on the ground next to her, and systematically began to push the body off of her own.

She bit down a scream. As the form toppled and rolled off of her legs, her own eyes locked with ones that would forever remain gazing. A dead body, that's what had been laying on top of her. In a flash, she had wrenched open the door to the small room, and gazed down at the still growing puddle of blood that formed where she had been sitting. Her amber orbs flitted over to her book, and widened, if at all possible, even still larger as she say that the pages were stained with blood. In a break of hysteria, she spun in a complete circle, taking in her surroundings as her tan, earth-toned skirt widened at its base as the air flew up around it. Everywhere around her were corpses, dead bodies with missing limbs, intestines spilled, countless puddles of blood soaking into the school's floor and walls.

It was only after the fact that Kiana-Marie took the time to look down at her own self, feeling a warmth about her that was not her own. Sticky crimson liquid covered all of the front of her, only detectable on her long-sleeved top due to its darker tone. Unable to contain herself, the brunette’s shrill cries rang up all around her as she continued to gawk at herself. But her screams were hushed by her own mind a moment later, finally registering that she might not yet be alone.

Desperately, she turned about herself once more, her eyes locking on a set of large metal doors. Hurrying to them, Kiana-Marie gripped the handles with her blood-soaked hands and pulled, wrenching the doors back only for an instant to allow herself into whatever room she had stumbled upon.

It was black, and it took several long, agonizingly long moments for the girl’s eyes to adjust. When they did, she knew exactly where she was. Kiana-Marie found herself standing at the top of the many rows of seats in the school’s vast auditorium. Pulling the doors closed behind her, wincing at the harsh crash of metal upon metal, the teen quickly found herself on her knees, crawling down the isles and rows of mounted chairs. Eventually she stopped, sitting on the floor with her knees pressed against her chest and arms wrapped protectively around her legs. The only noise that reached her was her own heavy breathing, and the gentle drip of blood falling from her clothes.

Actually, this was a post from an RP I was in a while, long while ago. I like it, and I was smart enough to save it to my computer. Thought I might as well get some people's thought on it.

Wren Says:

It's interesting. I like it. But then again I'll like pretty much any story I'll read so my opinion on this may not count that much.

kenly Says:
