The only pumkin that I've done after all my pumpkins were smashed. This won 2nd in a pumkincarving contest.
1st was a f-ing stencil ohh how i want to hurt some judges. you can buy that same f-ing stencil at the store in town..it's all over..OMG! but i'm a good sport and I won't get mad

They have these fake carvable pumkins you can order online now. I've been doing pumpkin carving myself for a few years (picked up some cash in college doing it for their contests lol) and am always sad to put so much into the pumkin only for it to rot.
With the caravable fakes you can keep em every year, and if you do one every year you can amass quite a collection or give em away to people as gifts.
I want to get somefakes for myself. I always have a stencil when I do mine, however I make the stencil at home on the computer myself and don't just buy em in stores.
Using a store bought stencil in a pumpkin carving contest is kinda cheating I would think.
This pumkin is awesome! It should have gotten first for sure!
