St. Bernard Puppy

My buddy Troy got a puppy and named it after Rome, his twin, who died a week or so ago. Rome is a St. Bernard puppy, and although I only saw it three or four times, I decided to draw one. I studied tons of pictures on the internet, and took sketches of Rome at Troy's house, plus went to Emily's house and sketched her ADULT St. Bernard. That's probably why it's somewhat out of proportion.

I'm hoping to get a few pieces of art out while I have mono, since it has been so long since I've uploaded, and I admit that the last few are very disappointing.

This is the critique on this: My whole "I hope I make the body look faded out" idea didn't work out very well, and the white is too white. His eye is somewhat fucked up, but I'm busy working on a pregnant woman drawing to really fix it. My sketch lines are far too visible, and the paw under the muzzle isn't shaded well.

But I love the facial expression. I think the real Rome would have liked it. I know Troy will. So here's to them.
