I Whispered "I Love You"

He took my hand,
A soft glove in my own.
His grip was tight,
A loving tone.
He brought it up,
And kissed it sweet.
His lips were soft,
Our eyes did meet.
The water swirled
As summer waves.
The summer breeze,
Took us away.
It spun the sand,
And gently blew.
It sensed our love,
It really knew.
Footprints in the sand
And we walked along,
He hummed in my ear,
My favourite song.
The sound was right,
Soft came the tune.
He sang the words,
As came out the moon.
Came the stars,
Bright as the sun.
He hugged me close,
For we were one.
We strolled and sat,
On an ocean stone.
He leaned beside me,
His hand still in my own.
He kissed my check,
I felt I could fly.
I whispered I love you…
But he whispered goodbye.
