Oil paints. I've not used them for about 8 years so opted to make it easy for myself and try them out with a straightforward dragon portrait. This picture's gone through quite a lot of changes which you can see for yourself here:

To make it even easier I made it a monochrome, so hello Payne's Grey (

) and Titanium White...
... I lie. There's a tinsey bit of Zinc White in there too.
My scanner hated this one.

Isn't Payne's Grey one of the best colours there ever was?
Now he looks pissed.... I really like the lightning crackling between his horns. I'm trying lightning with acrylics at the moment and it's not easy. Great job.
