Note: I made several pieces between the previous piece (Love's Course) and this one, but I didn't post any of the "in-between" artworks because I felt this one showed the result of my progress during that time (which is the most important thing to me!

). This drawing marks a new "era" or "style" in my anime artwork.
I finished this about two weeks ago, but finally decided to post it now.

It's a copic marker fanart of Lina Inverse, my best one so far, to pay homage to one of the best and most influential animes ever, Slayers! I've loved that show since I've known what anime is, which is crazy.

Man oh man, this piece was a freakin' JOB to create. >_< I spent hours on the sketching stage, eons on the inking, and then I proceeded to spend forever on color tests before even starting to color the fully inked piece. I think this is my only copic marker piece EVER where I actually had the patience to complete the linework/inking before starting on coloring... I'm usually so impatient! I also got to practice a new "layering technique" extensively, and from now on my copic pieces should be seeing major improvements! =)
This piece is the first of a four-part series; I'm doing full portraits of all of the "Original Four" Slayers characters (Lina, Zelgadiss, Gourry, & Amelia)... not sure when I'll be able to finish it though, with all the art/school projects I have!
Materials Used:
Copic Markers (72-B & 72-A sets)
Copic Multiliners (A-2 set)
Marker paper
Speedball white acrylic ink
Adobe Photoshop CS (for the background ONLY!)

damn that is pretty good considering this is "sheezy" art.com ;) nah i just kidding. i very much like this piece. stuck WAY out in the gallery while i was browsing through fanart section. shadowing and coloring is exceptionally good. and i like how you drew the body/face what have you in a more smoother style to make it more realistic looking. very nicely done.
