from the sheezy TOS part IV on rules and regulations. Sheezy specificly prohibits the following, and i quote-
1) Hate Speech:

SheezyArt private messages, journals, and submission media are not to be used for mediums of hate speech, spam, excessive profanity, personal attacks, racial slurs, anti-Semitic or other derogatory remarks about philosophies/religions, and/or offensive remarks based on gender or sexual preference.

i suppose, though, this is too vauge. but wait, there's a story here.


now. there's a certain user on sheezy. i won't say which. but they're posting frequent comments about how they are a racist. yes, their dislikes even include non-racist people. this alone is pretty bad. but it's not troublesome.

except they began to mouth off.

this user sat there and said how blacks have a 'lower intelligence' than other skin colours. how 'anything that comes out of their mouth' is stupid. how if you're not their chosen skin colour 'expect to be made fun of behind your back.' now call me absolutely crazy, but each and every one of these statements carries a much clearer implication of exactly what they think about a black person than if someone were to use the n-word in a casual discussion. the n-word even in context can leave people thinking okay, the user may just use that word because of where they grew up. they might not mean anything insulting by it.

yet the TOS will ban for use of the n-word, and does nothing when someone blaitently says exactly the implications the n-word is bannable for. kind of like taking the wrapping off a xmas present. but for some reason, when it's not wrapped up with a nice little slang word, it's perfectly okay to say it on sheezyart.

furthermore said user states they are a neo-nazi. not just a neo-nazi, but proud to be one too.

i reported them for this and was told by an admin that this is as if a user said they were a christian. they can not be warned for being a christian just because you don't agree with them.

now once again, call me crazy, but aren't christians emphasizing on LOVE THY NEIGHBOR and THOU SHALL NOT KILL and all that? sure, some do, but the point is their ground level philosophy and the majority of actions taken by christians is driven by a GOOD WILL TOWARDS OTHERS.

neo nazis, however, are not driven by any such good will. their hobbies include defacing and burning synogogs and black churches. beating people up. raping people. killing people. defacing property. forcing people out of towns. forcing people out of work.

not only that but someone saying they're a neo-nazi is very offensive to some of us. MYSELF I AM A JEW, and if you have never known a jewish person in your life let me tell you something about being one. your relatives and family will never EVER let you live without the paranoia of what happened in WWII maybe happening again. when you're a child you hear the stories. you hear how grandpa escaped by hiding diamonds in a camera lense. you are told over and over again never EVER to trust strangers just because they're in police uniform. you are raised suspicious and paranoid and grow up with something called 'jewdar'- a paranoia that flares up when people have a racist hostility towards you. this 'jewdar' is what saved me from walking straight into a demonstration march put on by the psychotic right-wing militaristic minority of japan before i even know what they were.

nazis killed jews. they put us into ovens and choked us with gas. they were merciless about it. they treated us as subhuman. because wwII is in the past, most jewish children these days can look at old nazi uniforms or art of nazi uniforms without feeling offended. THAT part of our history is history. however, NEO NAZIs revive that hatred and racism.

someone saying they are proud to be a neo nazi is someone standing up and saying 'yeah, i'd kill you JUST LIKE YOU WERE KILLED BEFORE. and you know what? i'm proud of it.'

now how would that make YOU feel?
me, i'd MUCH rather be called any kind of sexual or ethnic slur than have someone walk up to my face and say they are PROUD TO BE A NEO NAZI. it gets me BOILING with rage.

however, it's not against the TOS to say it. when i told said admin this was how i felt, they seemed suddenly surprised. they'd never thought of it that way. they had never thought of it from the side of a REALLY oppressed minority. when slurs are used in joking context and in trolling wars, they immediately begin warning. but when a TRUE and REAL racial or ethnic slur is being flung, they find it IMPOSSIABLE TO COMPREHEND ITS OFFENSIVE QUALITY.

instead, the users who express outrage over it get warned. warned to stop harassing the person who has just said they will not only discriminate actively against blacks but will kill any number of groups the minute they get a chance.

this seems only slightly...what's the word i'm groping for...IDIOTIC.

by sheezy's current TOS logic, it's not okay for me to call someone a a fucking w*p. regardless of the reason, the context or the true implications of it.

however, someone can come to the website and say all over that they are a pedophile and absolutely love raping and forcing themselves on small children- provided they do not use the word rape and word it in a non-pornographic manner. and if others get outraged? the others are the ones warned, not the pedophile.

under the current sheezyart logic, a user can come here and say that they are a proud serial killer. that they love spilling blood and especially are fond of targetting young women. they are allowed to say this. if someone gets angry and starts attacking them for posting this, that person is the one who recieves the punishment. not the murderer.

under current sheezy logic, men involved in america's 9/11 attacks could sign up. and actively, they could say 'i was involved in 9/11's attacks and i am proud of it.' and we the users? we couldn't say anything mean back, or we'd get warned. in fact, i fully expect to be warned for this suggestion. i fully expect to even have it deleted. that's why i'm going to save it.

look, it would be wonderful if we lived in an ideal world but we don't. it's nice that sheezy has rules. i like rules. but if you expect users to sit down and politely wait for administrators to handle things you also have to ensure that nobody comes along and starts KICKING OUR HEADS IN. if you take away our teeth, and someone else comes biting, it's YOUR responsability to defend US from THEM. the sword cuts both ways. sometimes the trolls also get harassed and offended. imagine that, we are also people.

if you DON'T want to have to ban users who say things like that than let US fight with them. let us get offended loudly. let us be proud to be NOT neo nazis, and let us say it in the angriest and most vocal way we can manage without exploding our computers.

you're so hung up on words hurting people. well words don't have to involve swearing and slurs in order to be dangerous and violent.

it's not hard to edit the TOS to prevent this kind of thing. a little sentance like this would do it.

'if you are a member of a group which discriminates against others due to their race, sexual preference or lifestyle (such as the KKK or Neo Nazis) and state so, you will be warned. if you do it repeatedly, you will be banned and possiably reported to your local authorities. it is not conductive to the atmosphere we wish to have here at sheezy and as with our rules regarding racial slurs, it is not tolerated.'

if you just happened along to this post, feel free to add commentary. this was specificly a note to the admins, but who knows. it may get around.
