Could I Have This Dance?
He smiled as he drew closer unto her;
the sparkles of a starlit night in his eyes
In his chest, his heart chanced a shiver,
the lake beside them - shimmering ice.
The sweetness scented in her hair;
the lavender hue catching snowy flakes
As he cannot even help but stare,
and his being becomes naught but aches.
"Could I have this dance, my darling sweet?"
he'd ask under the snowing heaven's sky.
"Could we chance our love unto our feet?"
he'd ask even as he nearly begins to cry.
She'd look up, rose-pink orbs set in ebon,
a smile tracing her pale face in winter snow
As they both thought to where time had gone
and wondered where, someday, time would go.
"We'll be together, forever, my beauty,"
he'd tell her, as his arms brought embrace,
"I'll never leave your side, just you see,"
he'd remind her, as tears ran down his face.
"We'll have our paradise," she told,
"And build our dreams," he replied
"Together, forever," both said in the cold,
and held each other close into the night.

I've told myself that since you take time to look at my art and comment, I'd do the same for you.
Look, it's a new-age Shakespeare. My favorite is the second stanza. The choice of rhyming words and fluencey happens to stand out the most to me. It's very lovely, and something like this is a great gift to your special one to show her just what you feel inside. Very nicely written. You've always had the knack for these things, not to mention making it in your own style by incorporating old tongue like "naught" and "thy". That keeps the romantic feel to it.

Well, I commented on this several times, but once more never hurts, right? I love this piece. You always make such nice poems, and it was really sweet[and odd] that we had the same idea in the same night. Thank you again, love. I've missed reading your softer work.
