With Regret

I'm so tired of being here,
and drowning in these constant tears.
I've lost the fight to my regrets,
emotional thoughts that never rest.

And I'm tired of these heavy fears,
whispering their thoughts into my ears.
They grip me tight, and weigh me down,
by reminding me that I'm all alone.

I'm too weak to take any more,
but I can't seem to find a cure
to rid these thoughts that I can't bear,
knowing that I put myself here.

And I'm so weak from this self-torture,
punishing myself for the love I forfeit.
In my heart I know, you were the one,
but I made a mistake, and now you're gone.

I'm afraid I've forgotten how love feels,
since I lost your warmth to these cold chills.
Your time with me, lost to the memories,
and all that we had, has almost left me.

And I'm so afraid to be alone,
with all of these fears I've come to know.
My eyes are wet from my regrets,
and I miss the life that we have left.

I'll always love you, no matter what,
and I'm so sorry for giving us up.
