Titanium Deity Says:

Could you please explain what a Kachaa is? I am not familiar with the subject.

Anoki Says:

A kachaa is the species that I've made up. There are different kinds of them. Some live in jungles, some live in deserts and other places. They've evolved to be adapted to their homelands with their coloration, the way of life, how they raise young, if they raise them at all, if they lay eggs or give birth to live young and such.

Certain kachaa kinds actually form communities (such as the desert ones), while others such as this one on the picture, is known to be more of a solitary. His branch of kachaa are for example known (the bigger elder males or females) to eat the younger ones if coming across them. The scales on their cheeks and shoulders are there in a form of protection while they move about the caves or thorny places or such. So that their hair doesn't tangle too much, they usually adapt to this kind of hairdo (plus the hair is more adaptable to be worn in such way.

Uh.. o.o there is more. But in.. a longer but short answer that would be it. Just a last, Kachaa as a word derives from the word kacha (ch is for a sound, not the letter) which in turn actually does mean snake.
