The Neo Senshi ~ Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Eleena ran to the park, shaking her head, \'I thought I left the trouble behind.\' Were the thoughts which were going around in her head, \'But, then again, mama said that with great power comes great responsibility...\'
She reached the park and there, standing on the fountain was a Youma, it was making Jesse, a spaniard about 14 years old hover in the air, one flick of the Youma\'s hand would send Jesse pummelling to his death.
\"Let him go!\" Eleena yelled shaking her head.
\"Why should I?\" The Youma yelled over to her.
The Youma clapped making Jesse drop a few feet down in the air.
Eleena breathed in sharply making herself cough.
\'I can\'t,\' She thought, \'Not while he\'s watching.\' She had an idea.
\"Hey,\" Eleena yelled as loud as she could, \"Bird brain!\"
The Youma looked down at Eleena like she was a pile of dirt, \"Are you talking to me?\"
\"Yeah!\" Eleena yelled back, registering Jesse\'s worried look, \"I\'m talking to you! I bet you couldn\'t kill Jesse even if your life depended on it!\"
The Youma clapped again and Jesse began to fall, faster and faster towards the ground.
Eleena began to walk away, then, when Jesse was about 50 km away from the ground and she was about 10 km away, she ran towards the place where he would land. Eleena jumped as high as she could catching Jesse and landing on on the old oak by the telephone box.
\"I\'ll get you yet, Princess!\" The Youma yelled as he began to fade out to go back to the dark side.
Eleena put Jesse on the branch next to her. She put a hand out to support herself, taking deep breaths.
\"What did it mean?\" Jesse had obviously recovered from his near-death experience as he was asking questions already, \"What did it mean by saying Princess, Eleena?\"
\"Nothing.\" Eleena said quickly, putting her foot on a branch underneath her. Eleena grabbed the branch which her foot was on with her hands and pushed her feet backwards making her hang in the air, she was now glad that she had changed into her black combat trousers and red t shirt before leaving her house.
Eleena let go of the branch and landed on the grass beneath her.
Jesse repeated her actions far less graceful than Eleena had landing with a thump on his butt.
“Ow!” Jesse stood up a look of pain on his face.
Eleena laughed and took his hand, “How and why are you here?” She asked.
“Well, I don’t really know, one minute, I’m rehearsing with Overrated, the next, I’m in England being held 100 km in the air by a giant thing.” Jesse shook his head.
Eleena’s face became downcast when she heard her band, Overrated being mentioned.
“You don’t have to worry, Eleena,” Jesse said when he saw the look on Eleena’s face, “We’re gonna change the name to Dragon Heart because well, simply ‘cause it isn’t Overrated when you’re not there, it’s Underrated.”
Eleena didn’t lighten up at her boy friend’s play on words, she simply shrugged saying, “I’m late, bye.”
“What are you late for?” Jesse called over to her.
But Eleena didn’t hear him, she had broke off into a sprint before he spoke.
She didn’t stop running until she had to, she didn’t stop running until she bashed into a girl called Rheo who had blue eyes, a ginger streak of hair which hung out of a long blonde plait which fell down her back.
“Sorry.” Eleena gasped scrambling to her feet, she held out her hand to help the girl up.
Rheo took Eleena’s extended hand and pulled herself up.
“Oh my God!” Eleena said, “Rheo!”
Eleena hugged Rheo; her best friend - they had both been in Overrated together.
“Why are you here?” Eleena asked as she and Rheo walked the road towards the temple and Eleena’s house.
“Well,” Rheo laughed, “Me and the guys decided to kick it in England for a while, see why your ma wanted to come here so bad.”

When Rheo was talking about ‘the guys’ she meant George and Mike, the last two members of Overrated.
“So,” Eleena coughed, “You’re living out here?”
“Too right!” Rheo laughed, “The English will kill for Overrated, the best singer in America along with the best band in America? Dude, we got it made over here.”
“So,” Eleena was fiddling around with her purple strand of hair, “What were you walking the streets for?”
“Oh, we were looking for Jesse.” Rheo rolled her eyes.
“Jesse?” Eleena was surprised, how did they know that he had come to England?
“Yeah,” Rheo sighed, “He dissapeared at the air port, when we were getting off the plane.”
“So, he lied because he wanted it all to be a surprise...” Eleena said to herself, then to Rheo: “He’s at the park, but he’ll go to the temple eventually.”
Rheo nodded.
“So, where are you kicking it?” Eleena asked.
Rheo bit her lip, “Well, we got a flat but the land lord is all hyper about me being a girl, he’s all: ‘I will not have any noise or parties - I know what you teen agers are like - if you do, I will throw you out!’ Geez, alls we wanna do is live and practice there.”
Eleena laughed, “No worries, Overrated can practice at my house.”
