I decided that the best way to practice anatomy is to drag my laptop out to the arbouritum (An area in the school grounds that consists of creek and areas to hang, rest, and watch wildlife) along with my tablet and sketch some of the wildlife in Central Valley, California. Two of the animals I did was the California Ground Squirrel and the cottontail rabbit. I wanted to do some birds, but my scrubjay ran away by the time I booted up my computer and I couldn't see any ducks, hawks, or our resident heron/egret. I plan on going down to where the ducks and other birds hang out sometime and do some anatomy sketches of them.
This is the California Ground Squirrel. I saw it eating in the bunch grasses next to me, so I started sketching it. The squirrel was so far away though! T_T I had to do guesswork on his feet because they were hidden in the grass.
Anyways, blah. This is the sketch. Done in about a half hour. >.>
