Virtues

~Virtues~

Life may be strange,
And you may have to wait for the time to start,
For when your lessons shall engage,
Depends on your speed of devouring.

As you watch your heart,
Fall to pieces and shatter before your eyes,
You shall not merely watch it crack part,
Though rather protect what is left and rebuild it from there.

When keeping your head,
While others may not,
Brings them down the path they always led,
To breakdown and failure.

Are you able to remain suttle,
As those around you are lost on chaos,
And swallowed by confusion and lost to befuddle,
While you should stand by to do what fit it wise?

Can you comprehend to make do,
With what you are given,
And will your throbbing heart and sinew,
To carry you on through time?

Should it be that as you blind,
The might of victory alone,
Search the key to coalition find,
And unlock the chest of memories old.

Do you have the pride to hold your head high,
When amongst those wealthy and powerful,
Though hang lower and remain beneath lie,
When all relies to those of little importance.

Can you understand what I\'ve told,
Learn to trust my word but not allow it be your aim,
And what others treasure you shall also hold.
To remember your virtues,
And be a good being.

Well, today in English class we were all reading this poem about some lessons of life and how to become more mature. So that kind of inspired me to write this poem.
