Farolito - DPrologue

~Prologue

\"We\'re under attack!\"
Battlecries filled the once silent night sky. In the dead of night guardsmen and soldiers were engaged in battle outside of a secluded mansion. As the echoes of the wounded filled the courtyard of the mansion two dark figures inched their way closer to the mansion itself, paying no heed to the carnage around them.

Soon they had found their way into the mansion. The long corridors were silent as they leisurly walked through them despite the commotion outside. After climbing the stairs they finally decided to go into the first room they encountered not knowing what to expect. Stealthily they opened the door snuck in and closed it behind them. They cringed as they looked around the obviously girly room. Stuffed animals of all kinds were in practically every nook and cranny, crayon drawings were also littered across the walls, and in the other end of the room in it\'s center stood a small child sized bed. A mountain of blankets lay upon it to keep the child that slept in it warm during the cold weather that had been lingering recently.

The blankets shifted ever so slightly from the soft breathing of the child beneath them. The evil figures made their way to the foot of the bed, an evil grin spreading across the taller one\'s face. He unsheathed his sword letting the sharp noise it made starle the child awake. She sat bolt upright in the bed her eyes wide as if she had just awoken from a nightmare. She pulled the blankets closer to her as she felt the cold stare of the shadowy figures at the end of her bed.

\"Poor child...did we wake you?\" the tallest one pointed his sword at the child making the cold metal glint in the moonlight from a nearby window. The smaller of the two figures approached the frightened girl giving away his appearance as he passed through the moonlight.

At first glance he simply looked like a tiger, but features like his wild red mane and tapered tail gave the illusion of lion like qualities. His blood red eyes cast a burning gaze upon the girl and he smiled. She shivered and her deep blue eyes became watery with tears as the boy teasingly ran his hands through her raven black hair and then moved to caress her earthy brown fur, stopping only when he reached the blue diamond shaped gem embedded in her right arm.

\"I suspect that you would like to have some fun with her before we kill her my son.\"The taller figure stepped into the moonlight. He, unlike his son, was pure lion, but his blood red eyes and mane were the same as that of his son.

\"No father...\" he was once again toying with the cat child\'s black hair, \"I want to keep this one.\"

The tall lion gazed down at his son questioningly, \"Her?! The very daughter of our worst and only enemy? I cannot force you to let me kill her once you\'ve had your way with her, but I want to make sure you realize what you are asking for.\" The boy stared at the embedded jewel in the girls arm, the very symbol and proof that she was indeed a child of their enemy. He smiled again.

\"Yes, I know what she is father and yet I still want to make her mine,\"The father looked down at his son and merely nodded. The boy turned to the frightened child, \"You...are mine now.\" He abruptly pulled the girl close to him and licked the gem in her arm possessivley causing her to shriek in terror. She struggled against him the tears she had been holding back ran in torrents down her face. When she finally managed to free herself she ran. The boy\'s father swung his sword at her as she ran. He cut her leg enough to make her fall to the floor.

\"Where do you think you\'re going little princess?\"
