Bedtime

Under the downy black of the family quilt
Through a slit of light
I hear a clicking sound
Like this:
Sws clk sws clk sws clk
That’s momma knitting a new hat
Just for me.

My eyes are getting heavy
And warmth surrounds me
I hear banging through the door
Like this:
Psh bop psh bop psh bop
He doesn’t like to make breakfast.

I cold foot rubs against my face
Bringing me out of almost-sleep
Then I hear that annoying sound
Like this:
GHAAAAOOOOoooooo!…sssssss….
Little brother snoring again!

No more warm blanky
I was almost asleep, the twerp.
Little brother’s getting what he deserves
Like this:
POW! Umph!……ouch! MOOOOOM!!
Sister hit me again!

lol. This is great! I love the original style and simplistic nature of the poem. Its really good and different.
