Lines of Innocence

Lines of Innocence

I read the lines across your face
the shame you hid beneath the bridge
You called to him a lovers breath
not knowing it would freeze in air

and now you’re here your hand in mine
passing the time, cries unwind

the story of the missing pieces
the pain dancing on your face
running to a place of solace
far beyond my heart

never turning back to wonder
of the clouds on which we float
to see if I still stood waiting
for you to come and rescue me

frozen in this time forever of
empty ended lovers laughs
letting go of wishful thinking
turning into stone again

Now emotions pouring after
flooding streets of circumstance
play no longer with desire
ending all the joy and pain

Now you kiss me; deep real
forever holding to this moment

Lines of innocence
lost in shadows
of the curses
in your mind

left me here alive and bleeding
wondering of your return
putting back together all
the loving ways he stole from you
