Sakura Petals
We watch as the petals fall to the ground,
Falling as freshly spilt blood upon the dawn.
There is nothing we can do to repair
The loss which we have suffered through.
They lose their color and with away,
They have served their purpose here,
Just as those whose pulsing hearts
Were pierced by the cruelty of others.
I catch the petals,
Watching as they float downward to rest in my palm
And lay them gently on the ground.
I can feel you watching me, but I can’t explain.
A weak grin is my only response.
Suddenly a strong gust rises up,
Mercilessly tearing the petals away,
Carrying them to some unknown destiny.
A tear rolls down my cheek
And I can feel you embrace me.
You can never really be gone, I pray,
As you your soul dances with the petals.
