Mehrl part 1 - the sketch

I AM BAAAAACK.

ahem. thought i would do a two parter here I hardly ever post my sketches and concepts, i usually just throw finished art up. in this case, I've decided to post the concept sketch, followed by the final work (which will be up within the hour)...

Now. This is Mehrl (pronounced "merle"), a character I've cocreated, I suppose. The character started out as a rough sketch, and was gradually refined into what you see here. The details (such as ragged/flopped ears and random piercing,single toenail, undersized wings and poofy Fraggle tail) were all thought out via "cigarette discussion" :)

I've determined already how Mehrl would walk, speak, and his general demeanor.

No, I didn't name him. And I certainly didn't choose to spell his name that way
