How to Draw: Kylee

Lots of people have been asking how to draw my character, so here's a starter. I may do a step-by-step sheet at one point, but I won't insult your intelligence, you can look at a picture and see how a character is drawn, right? O_O; Aaaaanyway...

To start with, Kylee is 15 years old and has a 5'5'' frame, on the shorter side of average when it comes to Anime. Her body shape is more like a pear than an hourglass, since she's not your typical anime girl with triple-D bazoomas. (Just a short note here...NO, sorry, she is not naked in these drawings, this is just a demonstration of her body shape.) On her shirt, one subtle line under the chest suggests her more modest bust. Her limbs aren't stick-thin, yet aren't quite bulging with muscle either. The knees are implied with one or two slightly curved lines, depending on the angle.

Kylee has a face that is a bit more youthful and rounded than other characters' her age. Her cheek is plump but doesn't stick out very far. It is preceded with a soft concave line coming down from her forehead, making a subtle slope. The chin comes to a gentle point, and her ears are set lower on her head. Her fingers and toes are generally rounded and slightly more cartoon-like, depending on her mood. (Gee the Anime style is versatile, innit?)

This girl's body movements range high and low. She can be smooth and graceful. But it doesn't happen too often. Her movements are hyper and jerky when excited, angry, or simply in a comical situation. When blissful or in a more gentle situation, Kylee's movement is more fluid and calm. Just don't stick a tack on her chair.

Kylee has huge, expressive eyes. Take advantage of them; you should be able to see the emotion and the intensity of the emotion she is feeling just by looking at her eyes. Her eyebrows are also very animated. They do basically everything but fly off her head. Kylee has only two small eyelashes per eye. Not quite nonexistent, but not making big black wings on the sides of her face. Perfect, I believe, to have the emotions conveyed through her eyes without being obscured or blocked. Her mouth can be about as whacked out and stretched as the rest of her face, or can be as simple as a small smile turned up at the corners of her lips.

Last of all...her hair. Oh boy. Kylee's hair is foofy. It puffs out when she is happy, and droops when she is sad. Its has a life of its own. The only time it will ever hang perfectly straight is when it's wet. Basically, when she is happy, annoyed or really mad, her hair and bangs stick up like hair raising on a cat's back. Generally, her blonde hair comes down to the end of her upper back. She has five pieces of hair for bangs, the one on the very end tending to be slightly longer and thicker. And don't you dare forget those white bits. Her natural white hair grows from the center of her head, from a birthmark typically known as an "Angel's Kiss," something she is secretly very proud of. Ther two streaks meet at the part in her hair, which looks like an elongated letter U. The streaks themselves look like curved teardrops.
