"(For)sake of Winter"

"Look for me in white forest, hiding in a hollow tree.. Come and find me?"

She cowers, tattered and chill.. The tears don't come.. They can't come.. All that she had given, all that she had done.. It.. really didn't matter in the end.. How foolish could she be.. so naive..

"All I wanted to say was I love you and I'm not afraid..." Her last thoughts that meant anything at all.. Her eyes drain of emotion. Frozen.

"I miss the winter.. a world of fragile things. Say goodnight. Don't be afraid. Calling me, calling as you fade to black.."

A cold figure pauses amongst the cold trees. She exhales, silently hoping that her breath would lift the awful heaviness from her chest.. Feeling?..

Guilt?.. Anguish?.. Pain?.. Remorse?..

Not yet.. Just turn around.
