the Beetles

(Description copied from my DA upload, because I'm a lazy shit =D)

Pretty quick, eh? I knew I was going to enter *ladydragona's contest, but didn't have a clue about what I would draw. Then I looked at the page of Yellow Submarine pictures she had put in her contest journal for style reference, saw this picture and was like "OMGYES" and immediatley dove into photoshop and started sketching. Three on-and-off hours later, I'm done! This was unimaginably fun to do, especially after that horrible strenuous jabberwocky picture that I felt my way blindly through.

I tried my best to stay within the Yellow Submarine style, but it was difficult and I had to change some things to make it look right. I took some artistic liscnece with their designs, such as changing their shoes and hands to make them more of the Yellow Submarine style. I also added shading, which kind of made them look not Yellow Submarine-y, but it was either that or having them look flat and icky so I just went with a simple cel shading.

The Yellow Submarine = awesome. I haven't watched it in a year since my peice of crap VCR is broken. After drawing this, I need to get it fixed and watch it again, or I feel I might explode.
