Psi stepped through the snow, dragging along what had remained of his chains around his ankles. The snow was tickeling him between his paw pads.
Then he startled. Did he hear a noise somwhere in the little forest beyond the ruin? He tightened his grip around the hilt of his knife and remained silent. His nostrils widened as he tried to catch an alarming smell, his ears wandered to several directions and his empty eyes twitched from left to right.
But there was nothing. Just him and the snow...
