Vysho is a very repentant demon. He really wants to get back into heaven, and be forgiven of his sins... though with his crimes, it would take an eternity to earn back salvation. Hence, the cross - Vysho yearns to be worthy of his loving God again (a God who sent his only son down to die for mortal sins, etc.), but all he can manage is evil: the upside-down crucifix.
Yes, I know it's too small to be a proper cross. Hush
