The Birth Of A New Senshi ~ Chapter 11

Lila smiled “Yeah, sure James, I bet.” She turned away from him and decided to look around the palace some more, “Later.” Lila said as she briskly walked away from James, who shook his head wondering how all of this had happened bringing him and her together, fate? “Na, couldn’t be...” James said still quite winded where Elie had kicked him whilst she was still wearing her football boots.
Speak of the devil, Elie walked behind him and placed an elbow on his shoulder and stared after Lila it was only when Elie spoke that James realised she was there, “Lay off, you have a mission, do not, I repeat, do not let this get in the way.”
Before James could answer Elie had walked off.
James shook his head and went out to find his mentor to see what he thought of the situation, it was late when James finally found him, he was on guard duty, James walked towards him knowing exactly how angry he got when James was late for the little ‘lectures’ he was given all the time since Lila had arrived the day before.
“Sorry I’m so late, I got caught up...” James trailed off seeing the disapproving look on his mentor’s face, “Hey, it’s not my fault!”
“It is your fault, James.” His mentor began, “You know how things work, you know why we’re here, she on the other hand, doesn’t.”
Now, you don’t not understand this at all, do you? Well, let me explain it, James was called up a few years beforehand, his mission was a dangerous one with great risk levels of course, you will find out in time what that mission was, I am only going to say that it is still uncompleted. There is one more important detail, however, see, once he completed this mission, he would die, and he was ready to die, he was only 14, a year older than Lila and he accepted his death.
“OK, fine!” James yelled, “I’ll leave her alone!” The little ‘lectures’ James was being given while Lila was there always ended with James yelling; ‘OK, fine, I’ll leave her alone.’ But the next day, surprise, surprise, he got the same ‘lecture’ all over again. James stalked off shouting abuse at his mentor.
Lila was watching and listening to this conversation from her window, not understanding most of it, but still, it had something to do with her and James. Lila spent a restless night tossing and turning, mostly wondering what this mission was, not a bad thing to loose sleep over, huh? But really, when Lila thought something bad was going top happen, it usually did, only it was worse than she had initially imagined it to be.
The next day Lila awoke heavy eyed with Rini practically breaking the door down and yelling for Lila to be ready in 10 minutes.
“Glad I installed that lock.” Lila muttered as she went about getting changed for her first school day. She put on a short-ish dark pinkish-red skirt and a blouse like thing with a sailor’s collar, dark pinkish-red also and trailing off it was a dark purple tie, Lila placed her light blue transformation brach on this tie, about 5 minutes later, Lila walked out of her room to where Rini had been standing who now smiled, “OK, now to get to school, should I ask Max our driver to take us up in style?”
At the mention of that name, Lila’s voice shook, “Max?”
“Yeah, that’s right, he arrived shortly after you did, it was the other night actually...” Rini rambled on as the two girls walked down the long corridor towards the front door of the palace.
Lila was still trying to figure this all out, she had been called up by the King who was now dying to be Sailor Clisha, where she had met James, now there was a sort of mission and she couldn’t see him anymore, now Max had turned up just when she was forgetting her old life and getting on with her new one? This was getting too complicated, but still it came as a shock to Rini.
Lila stood there outside, and screamed.
And screamed.
And screamed.
The screaming didn’t die down, if anything, it became louder, so loud that in fact, Rini had to cover her ears to keep herself from going deaf.
When Lila finally stopped screaming, she walked briskly down the path as if nothing at all had happened, and she would keep on walking until she understood what was going on, to tell you the truth, she thought that she would never stop walking, Lila left Rini, she left her and everyone in the palace. Lila sped her walk up to a jog, then to a run. What Lila didn’t know, however, was that -well, how do I put this?- she was being chased. At least, she didn’t know that until she heard the footsteps pounding on the ground behind her. When an alleyway turned up, Lila lept into it. In an instant Lila closed her eyes as he hair became short and turned red, her eyes turning a light green, her clothes staying the uniform she had been wearing when she had run away from Rini. It turned out that the person who had been chasing her was in fact a guard at the palace who stopped and asked the now disguised Lila if she had seen a girl with long blond hair, deep purple eyes and a Crystal High uniform on, he was talking about Lila before she had disguised herself, of course, but Lila firmly said no and let the guard to search for her, why he was looking for her, she had no clue, all she knew was that she had to get out of there.
Fast.
