The Birth Of A New Senshi ~ Chapter 9

Lila pulled away and looked about, then she pressed a button on her watch, in an instant she and James were back at the palace, Lila detransformed, “Where’s the little girl?” She asked running into the room where the senshi, the King and Queen were standing. The Queen smiled faintly, “You care a great deal, ask James to show you to the hospital wing of the palace.” She turned back to her conversation with the King, leaving Lila to go to the hospital wing with James.

-The Throne Room
The Queen walked towards Rei and smiled her small smile, she walked along the line of her past protectors, until she reached Hotaru at the end of the line of Senshi. “You all know,” The Queen paused wiping a tear away from her eye, “That the moment we do this,” She glanced at Edymon then turned her attention back to her senshi, “The moment we do this, we will all die, the second we pass it on, we will all die.” Edymon v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y walked to the Queen’s side, supported by a walking stick, “As I am sure you know, we are kept young because of our powers, when they are gone, we will be too, I am also sure that you have noticed, that ever since Lila has arrived at the palace and has taken on the powers of the earth as Sailor Clisha, your King has weakened and is now appearing older, this will happen to each of us in turn. We all know exactly why it is Edymon has weakened, he had a child before we married, passing on the powers of the earth to Lila, but unfortunately, Lila’s mother did not survive the birth, Edymon married me, making it appear that Lila was an orphan, promise me that you will never tell Lila who her father is, for when he dies, this may upset the balance.” She turned away from her loyal senshi, “Please, pass on your powers tonight, I will pass mine to Rini, we have faced death before and we can do it again. Good bye, my friends.” The Queen left the room in search of her daughter, Rini. The Senshi stared after her, gave their friends one last hug until the next time they would meet, however, they all knew that they never would and they each parted their separate ways to tell their daughters what was to become of their lives.

-The Hospital Wing
Meanwhile, James and Lila had arrived at the hospital wing when James got a contact from his mentor to meet him elsewhere, “I completely forgot what the time was!” James apologised and hurried off to the garden where his mentor was. Lila knocked on the ward’s door and a child’s voice sounded, “Come in.”
Lila opened the ward’s door and walked into it, smiling at the the small girl she had saved only a few hours beforehand, it was now that Lila got a good look at her, the young girl had light brown hair and dark brown eyes which twinkled slightly, she was not wearing the same clothes as she had when Lila was saving her, she was now wearing yellow pyjamas which one of the nurses had given her. Lila was in such deep concentration that when the door opened and a nurse walked in, Lila jumped almost out of her skin.
“Do you know her?” The nurse asked the girl sitting in the bed.
“Sure do! That’s the lady who saved me!”
The nurse turned to Lila, “Lila, please excuse Elizabeth, she has been quite shaken up, according to reports, she was saved by a senshi going by the name of Sailor Clisha, so obviously, it couldn’t have been you!”
The young girl who went by the name of Elizabeth frowned at the nurse, “No, that’s the lady who saved me!” She pointed a small finger in Lila’s direction.
“OK, OK, if that’s who saved you, then that’s who saved you.” The nurse shook her head and walked out of the ward.
Lila sat down on the only chair in the ward and looked at Elizabeth who was now reaching for a glass of water which she couldn’t reach “Let me help.” Lila stood up once again, and picked up the glass of water and handed it to Elizabeth, “How did you know it was me?” Lila asked her.
“I’d recognise that watch anywhere!” Elizabeth was pointing at the watch which Lila had worn when she was transformed.
“Do you need anything?” Lila asked after shaking her head at her own stupidity.
“No, but can you come back tomorrow?” Elizabeth asked hope in her eyes.
“Yeah,” Lila said heading for the door, “I’ll come back tomorrow.” With that she opened the door and left the ward and the hospital wing to go and find the others.
