Sailor Moon Cosmos - Episode Three: Cosmos Senshi

Author’s Note: I will refer to the scouts of this time as Sailor Senshi and the future scouts as Cosmos Senshi so you won’t be too confused, I hope.


Usagi, Ami, Minako and Makoto walked to school the next day sluggish, they had stayed up all night talking about the new Senshi and the problems they would be facing in the near future. Ami was currently re-reading the article about them for the tenth time that morning.
Usagi yawned. “I’m so tired. Why did Rei-chan have to go on and on about the new senshi last night? I don’t even think I can keep my eyes open.”
“Well you better wake up soon Usagi-chan, we have a test in Algebra II today.” Ami informed her folding up the paper with a sigh.
Usagi was suddenly awake. “Nani?! That was today? I thought I had a whole week to study for that?”
“You did…when I reminded you the first time last week.” Ami said dryly shaking her head.
Usagi moaned. “If I fail another test my Kā-san’s going to kill me!”
“Maybe you should have come with us on our study date instead of skipping to go out on a date with Mamoru-kun.” Said a voice Usagi easily recognized. She spun around to face Rei.
“Oh be quite Rei, your just jealous cause I have a steady boyfriend and you don’t!” She stuck out her tongue.
“I do have steady boyfriend for your 4-1-1 Usagi-baka!” Rei returned the gesture.
A large drop of sweat formed on the back of Minako, Makoto and Ami’s heads.
“Let’s walk on a head and pretend we don’t know them.” Makoto whispered walking faster. Ami and Minako nodded following suite.
After a moment Usagi and Rei noticed this.
“Minna! Wait for us!”

Unnoticed by the Sailor Senshi the Cosmos Senshi were watching them from a distance.
“I can’t believe how childish they are…” Natusmi finally said.
“Yeah I know.”
“I can’t believe how embarrassing they are!” Tara said.
Usa cleared her throat loudly. “Well we had better get a move on before we’re late. Our school is in the opposite direction, remember?”
Nodding in agreement the teens turned around and began walking to their school.

Usa entered her first period class, U.S. History, and took as seat in the back corner of the room next to the only window in the medium sized classroom. A man with dark hair that didn’t seem to fit him right walked into the classroom. Immediately the class quieted down and took out their books. Usagi could understand this, it was rumored around the school that the U.S. History teacher was very mean and strict. He reached into the small pocket of his shirt and pulled out a pair of small glasses and placed them on his long nose. His tiny black eyes eyeing the class suspiciously, he opened the little red folder he carried with them.
“Good morning class, welcome to U.S History. This will be the most difficult class you will ever take in this school. It’s not easy to pass my class but if you wish to succeed you had better pay attention, take good notes and don’t ever fall asleep. Doing any of these will result in five zeros for the day, after building up too many of these you will be unable to pass my class. Any questions?”
The class was completely silent.
“Good. My name is Mr. Murphy, when I call your name answer if you don’t and you’re here you will have one zero for the day.”
~ Man, oh man! If all of Kā-san’s stories are true…! I’ve really got to keep in line with Mr. Murphy as my History teacher. As if having his descendant in the future, as a teacher wasn’t bad enough I had to travel in time and have the man himself! ~ Usa thought dejectedly.
An hour and thirty minutes later Usa left her U.S. History class with a stiff right hand and six pages (back and front) of notes on which she had a quiz the very next day. Dragging her feet on the ground she walked down the hall, crossed the cafeteria and entered her second block class, Algebra II.

Amethyst stood before the large wooden door with the words ‘Principal Garnet’s Office’ in gold cursive on the center of the door. With a trembling hand she knocked on the door once and opened it.
Amethyst breath was caught in her throat at the site that met her upon entering the large office. ‘Principal’ Garnet sat behind his desk in a large leather chair a large bay window behind him, fury written all over his face.
“Y-you called for me, Garnet-sama?” She asked her voice unsteady.
Garnet stood up abruptly almost knocking his chair off its legs in the possess.
“You failed me.” He said directly. “What’s your excuse for this Amethyst? You know failure is not acceptable in the Black Moon Family. My brothers did and look where it got them! They’re dead! Is that what you want to happen to us? Is that your goal?!” He asked outraged.
Amethyst held back her tears. “No.”
“So…what happened.” He asked calming down slightly taken his seat again but Amethyst knew better, his eyes were still slits of fury.
“Another Sailor Senshi showed up. She was different than the others, Prince Garnet, Sir. She attacked with such power…I had no choice but to flee.” She said nervously.
“Did you at least get the job done?”
“Hai, just as you said it would the liquid Dark Crystal removed their Energy Crystals leaving them with only ¼ of their power. They won’t get in our way” She said placing the ten gems on Garnet’s desk..
“Good, maybe you’re not a total screw-up.” Amethyst’s heart fell to her feet at that, a single tear escaped her eye and she quickly whipped it away.
“Now we can exterminate them one by one like the pests they are. Tell Topaz he can begin the first phase in his plan.” Amethyst nodded stiffly, spun on her heel and left his office heart broken and terrified.
“Stupid wench.” Prince Garnet muttered to himself as he picked up the diamond Energy Crystal and held it up in the air letting the light from the gem shine down on his desk. “Soon my love…very soon.”

Haruka, Michiru and Hotaru were sitting on a bench in Jyuban Central Park. They were sitting close together huddled over Michiru’s talisman. It showed dark clouds rolling closer and closer to their present location.
“It seems as if a new evil has appeared.” She said returning the Aqua Mirror to her backpack carefully.
“Hai, and for the first time we are powerless to stop them. What are we going to do?” Haruka asked looking up into the clear blue sky, the wind playing with her hair.
“You don’t suppose we should trust that new senshi, do you?”
Haruka recoiled. “I don’t think we should go running to her just yet. We’re not sure if she really is on our side…but I have to admit she does look a lot like Usagi-chan but with an odd coloring.”
“Hai, and a tail! Do you think she’s from another planet?” Michiru asked.
“I think we should trust her.” Hotaru said her voice small and faint.
Michiru and Haruka started at the sound of her voice, they had forgotten she was with them.
“Why is that? Have you had a prediction?”
Hotaru shook her head her dark locks swaying past her face several times. “No but I just have this feeling like…like we should.”
‘Well you had better trust some one! You’ve just about run out of options!’ A voice echoed in the trees.
Michiru, Haruka, and Hotaru stood up immediately looking around them for the source of the voice but it seemed to come from all around them. Suddenly a swirling black hole opened up in the sky and the same woman who attacked them stepped out. By the look on her face she wasn’t too happy. She slowly floated to the ground stopping and hovering an inch above the ground in front of them.
“So, go on, transform!” Her face twisted into a wicked grin. “But if you do you won’t have much energy left to defend yourselves with!” She gave off a shrill of laughter.
“How does she know it’s us?” Hotaru whispered but not low enough.
“Because I know who you all are, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Saturn!” She seemed to be pretty happy with herself after that last statement.
“Alright, so you know who we really are. What are you going to do?” Haruka asked standing in front of Michiru and Hotaru, protecting them.
“Don’t worry dears, I won’t kill you…quickly!”

Natsumi took the shortcut home through the park with Mai and Noriko. None of them talked instead they listened to the soothing sounds of Natsumi's Saxophone. Many people looked at the three of them as they passed, as they seemed to fill the air around them with tranquility. After few moments the song came to an end and passers-by gave a round of applause causing Natsumi’s ears to turn pink.
“That was truly beautiful Natsumi-chan.” Mai complemented making Natsumi’s face match her ears.
“Thank you, I just wish my Kā-san would think the same.” She sighed wistfully.
“I thought your K¬ā-san was really into music?” Noriko said.
“Classical music.” Natsumi corrected her. “She likes the other stuff too but not as much.”
A world-shattering scream broke out suddenly from their right as a small mob of people ran out from that direction. The screams were soon followed by a series of explosions. Mai, Noriko and Natsumi exchanged knowing glances at each other before running behind three large Sakura trees to transform.
After going through their transformations they took off to find the source of the screams hoping they weren’t too late.

Cosmos Neptune, Uranus and Saturn arrived on the scene to find Michiru knocked unconscious and a badly injured Haruka and Hotaru facing a woman who they had not seen before. Haruka looked fine, she was a strong fighter but Hotaru looked sickly pale as if she were about to pass out on the spot.
“Stop right there, slime-ball!” A voice ran out, echoing in the surrounding trees. The woman dressed in white and black stopped her assault on Haruka and Hotaru turning her full attention on the new arrivals. Amethyst looked into three pairs of eyes, each one colder and harder than the last.
“More sailor brats, I see. Very well, I wasn’t having any fun with them anyway.” She smirked pointing her thumb in Haruka and Hotaru’s direction.
With much effort Haruka walked over to the fallen Michiru sitting down beside her cradling her head in her lap. After a moment Hotaru collapsed to her knees weak and winded.
She looked at the new senshi too and was shocked at what she saw. Three pairs of eyes stared back at her but only in particular struck a nerve. Cold rich purple eyes looked back at her searching for what she didn’t know. Hotaru’s eyes traveled down the girl’s torso taking in every inch of her. From her short ebony hair to the purple and black fuku she wore.
~ Something about that girl…I can’t put my finger on it but I swear I’ve seen her before…~ Hotaru thought.
After making sure Michiru’s injuries weren’t fatal Haruka looked at her rescuers. They looked surprisingly familiar to her. One girl with long dusty blond hair tied back in a long French Braid wearing a gold and blue fuku and the girl next to her. She had soft wavy sea green hair that fell to her ankles and wore a blue and sea green fuku.
“Who are you brats anyway?” Amethyst asked with some interest.
“I am the solider of the Sky, Cosmos Sailoruranus! In the name of Uranus I will punish you!” The girl in the gold and blue fuku said.
“I am the solider of Death and Destruction, Cosmos Sailorsaturn! In the name of Saturn I will punish you!” She was the one in the purple and black fuku.
“And I am the solider of the Seven Seas, Cosmos Sailorneptune! In the name of Neptune I will punish you!” The girl in the blue and sea green fuku said.
“Empty threats girls, that’s all those are to me.” Amethyst said jumping into the sky.
“Oh? Is that why you’re running away?” Cosmos Uranus said.
Amethyst’s left eye twitched. “On no, dears, I couldn’t do that! After coming all this way I’m going to fight you and I will kill you all this time! Kurai Seiryoku Kōgeri Suru (Dark Energy Attack)!”
She cupped her hands together and a huge ball of black energy formed in them. She thrust her palms outwards and unleashed her attack on the senshi.
Sailorneptune screamed as she dived and hit the dirt Sailoruranus and Saturn doing the same. The ball of energy hit the ground and exploded creating a large crater in the earth.
“Wow!” Uranus said. “That wasn’t half bad, lady, I thought for sure you would have been weak.”
Amethyst cocked her head to the side, “Me, weak? My dears you must be gravely mistaken. I am very strong, all who have seen my true power have not lived to tell the tale.” She grinned powering up for another attack.
“We’ll see about that won’t we?” Uranus matched her grin.
“Oxygen…” She opens her hands and a sucking sound was heard as the air around her gets sucked in to her hands. After a moment the air starts to take a shape, the shape of a torpedo made out of good old fashion H2O. “Torpedo!”
Two torpedoes shoot out from her hands zooming towards their target: Amethyst.
Thinking quickly Amethyst dodges the attack by jumping behind a tree. A small black hole is formed as it hits the tree sucking the tree up completely leaving a shocked Amethyst unprotected.
Amethyst flies higher into the sky and hurls another ball of dark energy at the senshi.
“Let me try, Uranus.” Neptune says.
She jumped into the air cupping her hands together. “Title…”
The breeze picks up a notch and Neptune thrust out her hands palms forward facing Amethyst.
“Wave!” A huge wave appeared out of nowhere behind her and passes by splitting in half where Neptune stands and joins together just in time to slam into Amethyst.
The force of the wave was so strong in knocked Amethyst out of the air sending her crashing to the ground.
Coughing and wheezing Amethyst slowly props herself up, she picks up her head and sees a pair of purple boots. She suddenly feels something cold pressing against her face, glancing down she sees the blade of Saturn’s Silence Glaive.
“Get up.”
She does so slowly the blade never leaving the side of her face. She stands at her full height looking down into Saturn’s cold purple eyes.
She smirks. “You wouldn’t dare, you don’t have it in you, kid.”
Saturn smirks back at her coldly. “Hontō ni?” She presses the blade to her face harder drawing blood.
Amethyst narrows her eyes at Saturn. With an incredible amount of speed she brings her hand up to Saturn’s stomach and launches her attack. Taken by surprise Saturn flies back into a tree as Amethyst opens up a portal and jumps into the air.
“You haven’t seen the last of me, kids and next time I won’t be so forgiving.” She disappears into the portal.

“Thank you, you saved our lives. How can we thank you?” Haruka asked walking up to the celebrating Cosmos Senshi an unconscious Michiru in her arms.
“Nothing, it was on us.”
Haruka nods. “Tell me, who are you and why have you come here? We really want to trust you but if you don’t open up to us it becomes very difficult to do so.”
Neptune looks at Saturn and Neptune. “I really wish we could, but at this point in time we are unable to do so…”
With that said the Cosmos Senshi run off jumping into the air and flying off into the horizon.
