I was demonstrating to my mum the handy layers feature of photoshop to which she thought the tone layers on its own was quite striking, so I thought I would post it up as a kind of preview/finished piece. I personally like it so far..
I'm hoping this isn't breaking some mature code of conduct cos I'm not posting this as mature.. I'm thinkin' the children can deal..

THIS IS AWESOME!!! Oh my freakin gawd, I love this. It's actually the subtle light shading strokes that really show skill.. like the eye, the nose(the tip! ah), and the shading around that knee...! You have no idea how much I love that part..!!! +_+ Actually the entire body just looks great in general, but I had to force some fav parts. Your variance from very dark, bold tones to light, whispy ones gives it a lot of depth, and the color of the "paint"(non-black) is a beautiful change from the norm. Just make the BG an off-white hue with a speck of noise/texture, and this could be an instant masterpiece..
Is it a hermaphrodite like all my figure sketches tend to be? >_^
