Rain

the fresh scent of damp earth fills the air,
a deep breath draws from the cloud of thick moisture
I gaze into the sky,
watching the continuous movement of gray upon gray.
each step sinks into the wet mud,
leaving anonymous footprints to slowly fade away.
a dull breeze caresses my face,
golden wisps of hair fly wildly about,
a cool fog swirls around my body,
leaving traces of moisture on my soft skin.
the dreary clouds darken
and a low onimous roar booms in my ear.
soon I hear the patter of raindrops,
shattering the smooth surfaces,
dancing in the murky puddles.
the dense clouds then break apart
revealing warm sunlight.
the rain persists
the cool rain battling the warm sunlight
a synonomous agreement is the end,
a bright spectrum of brilliant colors,
signaling the compromise of weather

During the rain. I wrote this when I was taking a long walk along in the park. I was inspired, and that brought about the writing of this poem. Hope you like it!
