This is a surprise thank-you gift for

. She's such a sweet, friendly person and she's been very nice to me (among other people) ever since I came to SA, so I thought I'd make her something special. It's also a thank-you for taking some of her time to tell me how she does her shading and highlighting techniques. I tried them out a little in this pic and mixed it with some of my own techniques.

I had planned on finishing this thing several days ago, but I kept screwing up on the sketch, so I had to re-do it several times. I suck at drawing lions. And I was trying to keep the appearance true to her adorable character (except with my own style mixed in there). So, it took a little while for me to get something art-worthy.

But I'm very happy with it. I figured, if I'm trying to make the character look so good, the background should be just as impressive. So, I also did the entire background (except the moon and stars), by hand.

So, I hope you like it Balaa! This one's just for you.

*GASSSPS and stares wide eyed* O___O!!!! You didn't have to do this!!! I mean I didnt even think my description was worthy..its so hard for me to describe how I do shtuff sometimes but its my pleasure! Ifn half the people that ask me lived closer id prolly invite them over and show them in person...much easier that way AND I get a buncha new friends!

Now for technical praise. For someone that claims to not be good at drawing lions, you did a flawless job! It is a purrrfect likeness of my Balaa and the pose OHHH my the pose! I simply adore it to itty bitty pieces!!! How can I thank you for such a sweet picture and the sentiment behind it? *biiigggg Kitty HUUUUGGGoDOOOOOOMMMM with a floof on top * Thank you sweetie! This is wonderfluffle :)!!!

Hehe yer as long as you do the biggest bit of floof possible on the top of her head Balaa is happy ;);) , You did a beatiful job of the drawing, especially if you think you suck at drawing lions- I can't see why you would say that, it's better than half my sketches- ask around and you will find alot of us have trouble getting the pose right and stuff anyway, so it's normal, don't worry .
The pose is GORGEOUS, I love the eyes, she looks beatiful, and the shading is really good *nodnod*,you will find, with practice you can experiment with erasing it and using layers and lighting techniques and will get even better at it . I love the moon and the deer in the bg too
