Heh, this isn't as big deal as you think, its very rare that it could happen. Plus, it seems like some at Xbox-Scene (an Xbox modding site) had researched into why this might happend. The person at Xbox-Scene said it's actually a bad sauter job done on the power supplies provided by Foxcon Inc. (who made some of the power supplys in earlyer models, but not all of them) that might be a fault, not the actual cords. So it's neither the cord or Microsoft's fault, but they didn't want to recall certain Xboxes. So some of the replacement cords have a GFI on them as a "just in case" thing.
This kind of thing happens to everyone, and this kind of thing could of happend to any console, or any eletronic product. Just one bad provider of parts can cause a whole mess of problems.
