Kayoko Part1: Our Hero
Kayoko let his head fall against the bar top lime green hair falling into his face over eyes adorn with blue contacts. The tiny slender boy started to speak not making eye contact with the bartender. Just staring off in the direction his head had landed “You can’t really mean that can you? Turn 500,000 yen for one night use? Who can do that?”
The stout bar tender looked down on him and spoke to Kayoko rudely “Lots of bands you know, like the ones with money and talent.”
Kayoko pushed up off the bar but kept his face downward and leaned forward onto his arms.
“How can you be such a ass?” He looked up and spoke cold and rudely back ”I wouldn’t let my band perform in the hell hole any how.”
The bartender laughed “yeah, right”
Kayoko promptly on that remark stormed out of the bar. He burst out into the lightly chilled night, and he promptly went along to the front of the building where he sunk down against the wall. His transparent fitted paisley shirt catching on a rough spot on the building. Lime hair fell into his face as he sunk his head in defeat “How could he be such a ass? 500,000 yen in a hell hole like that?”
The bartender had in fact been quite rude. The normal expected revenue was only 200,000 yen he just wasn’t to fond of JRock, and didn’t think he would want to hear it that night. Not to try to side with the bartender. Twisting at the Monroe pricing above the right of his lip nervously Kayo contemplated his predicament. A soft ring tone suddenly went off Kayoko promptly wiggled his phone out of his pocket. He looked at the Caller ID his heart sunk as he saw it was Shin. Shin the bassist for Blood Stained his band. His band that he just failed miserably. Still no venue, but he reluctantly answered his phone “Hello?”
“Hey! We in?” The voice on the phone chimed back.
Kayo took a deep breath “We don’t want this place it's dirty and smells like pee.”
“Who cares we need a venue.”
“It just didn’t work out ok?” Picking at the side of his boot Kayoko cast his eyes down as he mumbled into the phone.
“Ok man, don’t take it to hard. We can look again tomorrow k?”
“Yeah…”
“Rest up man”
The phone clicked. The call ended Kayoko hoisted himself up and started his trip home.
The tiny boy slipped in the door of his one room apartment around 1AM. He sat in the door way and tugged off his shoes. The kid next door was still blasting Ayumi very loudly. Kayoko lay down on his narrow bed and turned on the wall-mounted lamp above it dimly illuminating the room. He looked up at the ceiling at the posters he had put their of phenomenal JRockers. Sakito, hide, Kyo, Gackt, Mana they were all their on his ceiling staring blankly back down at Kayoko. Draping one slender arm across his eyes Kayoko pounded his fist against the wall with his free arm “Please, turn it down.” He mumbled to himself. It didn’t get turned down. It never got turned down. The boy next door was kind of beefy and evidently has a thing for Aiyumi Hamisaki. Whenever Kayoko would go over to ask him to turn it down he would punch him or if he was lucky he would just slam the door in his face. Our little indie rock star didn’t feel like getting hurt tonight. He just let the music blare on next door. Sitting up Kayoko stripped himself down to his underwear piling his clothes by the bed. He caught his reflection the mirror at the foot of his bed. The boys ribs poked out just a little. This bothered him he tried so hard to gain weight. He really just couldn’t, so his ribs continued to poke out awkwardly and bother him. The slender boy curled up under his sheets and turned off the lamp above his bed. Kayoko closed his eyes to sleep Aiyumi Hamisaki blaring in the background.
