Black: Captain (3rd highest)

“Make sure that you train today for at least 3 hours today, fellows.” Chief told the Bladebreakers before they left to go train, or goof of, on their own.
“Don’t worry Chief! How could we forget something as important as training?” Tyson said. “Can’t we go NOW?!” “Relax Tyson. We have all day.” Ray said while trying to calm him down.
“Fine, I guess I can wait a little longer to… wait a minute, where’d Kai go?” Max sighed, “Kai probably left already Tyson. You know he doesn’t exactly wait for the rest of us before he takes off.”
“True, how true.” Tyson muttered to himself. “Okay guys, that all I wanted to say. So you guys can go now, me and Dizzy have to work on some new equipment for your blades.”
“All right! Freedom at last!!” Max and Tyson yelled.
Meanwhile, at a warehouse downtown (A/N: Why is it always at a warehouse downtown?)
“All right, I have a new assignment for all of you! Remember to protect your assignment no matter what! Even with your life if you have to.” A figure in a black cape told a group of 4 people, all in cloaks of different colors.
“John, you need to guard Max, this will be your first assignment as a blue-cloak, so do me proud. Well what are you waiting for, get going!” The figure stated.
“Yes captain” The figure, now identified as John, said. Then, with a swish of his cloak, he was gone.
“Chad!” Captain said. “Yes captain?” “I’m leaving Ray up to you, and remember, use your green cloak for camouflage this time! Not for wiping up ketchup stains.”
“Yes captain.” Then he was gone.
“Well Rebecca, you already know that I’m assigning you to Tyson. Make sure you never lose him, or THEY might hurt him.”
“Of course captain, but shouldn’t you cover Tyson? I mean it is more likely that THEY will go after him?” Captain gave a very faint smile, “True, but Tyson’s sensing abilities aren’t as honed as Kai’s are, and Kai poses the most threat if THEY get to him. Besides, I have complete faith in your abilities!’’
“Then I’ll get on it right away captain!” Rebecca stated. With that said, she left. Captain then turned her gaze to the remaining caped figure; this one was wearing a yellow cloak.
“Captain, do you wish for me to stay here and man the fort while you and the rest of my comrades are attending to their duties?”
“Sarah, this time you have a different job. You’re going to accompany me, so you can advance up to a blue cloak.” Captain explained to this girl, Sarah.
“Really Captain?” Sarah questioned excitedly. Captain smiled and shook her head, “Would I lie to you Rookie?” Her words were meant to insult Sarah, but Captain spoke them in a teasing manner. Sarah fought to keep her surprise from showing, because it was very rare that Captain would ever tease someone. “Of course you wouldn’t lie to me Captain”
“Now that you believe me, let’s start now task.” Captain then walked out the door, with Sarah close behind her.

The Bladebreakers were still all gathered at Tyson’s house, with the exception of Kai, so Captain and Sarah had to look for him.
“Remember Sarah; make sure you melt into the shadows, we don’t want to Kai to know that he’s being followed.” Captain told Sarah, who nodded in understanding.
Kai’s POV~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^
I’ve been having this feeling that I’m being followed for the last five minutes, but every time I turn around to look, there’s no one there.
‘Sooner or later I’ll catch the person whose following me, and then they’ll have some explaining to do! Until then, I think I’ll go train some.’
Kai didn’t know it, but he was only sensing Sarah. He was completely oblivious to the fact that Captain was tracking him, too.
Normal POV~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*^~*
Another figure in the shadows was following Kai. This person was wearing a black ninja outfit, and was sticking to alleyways for following Kai.
Kai turned onto the path that goes down to the bridge. Nobody knows why, but Kai’s favorite spot to train was under the bridge.
About 5 minutes into his training, a figure emerged from the shadows! “Kai, I’ve come to claim your bitbeast by force!” The figure exclaimed.
“Don’t you have to take it from me after you beat me in a beybattle first?” Kai asked, not really caring about the answer. “Not anymore, now all I have to do is kill you and TAKE the bitbeast! Haha! Hahaha! Muwahahahaha!”
“You’ll have to pry Dronzer from my cold, dead fingers! Because I won’t every let you take him while I’m still breathing!” Kai told the figure.
“Very well, but remember, you asked for it by daring to defy to Conks! Prepare for your death!!” With that said, the figure plunged his hand into his suit, and withdrew 2 daggers.
“Even if 1 misses the other is sure to reach the target!” Then he threw the daggers at Kai, who was too shocked to move.
Captain’s eyes widened, whispered “Stay down and don’t make a sound no matter what!” Then she flung herself from her hiding place next to Sarah, and jumped in front of Kai. “Kai, get down NOW!!”
Just then, the daggers hit her, one in her shoulder, and the other by her. She stood up for a few seconds, before collapsing to the ground. Sarah was crying silently, but she stayed down.
By now, the figure had disappeared, and Tyson had showed up. “Hey Kai---WHAT IN THE HE*L?!?!?!?!?!?!?!” As soon as Tyson showed up, Rebecca showed up next to Sarah. She was just as upset as Sarah was, because Captain was her friend, and here she was, dying in front of her and she couldn’t do a thing about it! “Shh. Don’t worry Sarah, it’ll all be fine, I’m sure it will be.”
Meanwhile, Kai had told Tyson what had happened, and they had picked her up to take her back to the dojo. They laid her down on a futon, and called the doctor.
By now, Max and Ray had come back to the dojo, to check on their teammates. They were utterly surprised to find a girl in the dojo, and even more surprised when they found out what happened to Kai, and how this girl had saved him.
“Do you guys know what her name is?” Ray asked Tyson and Kai. “No, we don’t know anything about her.” Tyson answered for both of them. ‘That’s not true,’ thought Kai ‘We know that she was following me, because the energy from the guy who tried to kill me didn’t match the energy signature I felt before.’
OUTSIDE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I can’t believe Captain would sacrifice herself like that!” Sarah whispered to her comrades who had showed up when Max and Ray retuned to the dojo, where her and Chelsy were already.
“Sarah,” Rebecca whispered back, “You know that if we allow the bitbeast’s to fall into the Conks hands, then the world as we know it will come to an end! Captain was only doing what she thought was best for the world.”
“But she might die! We’d know for sure if that DAMN doctor would only hurry up and get here—oh look, here he comes now!” John exclaimed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~20 min. later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The doctor was just coming out of Captain’s room, and he was smiling, which was a good sign. “She should be just fine, as long as she gets plenty of rest and food, she’ll make a full recovery!” the doctor told the anxiously awaiting Bladebreakers.
Everyone in the room breathed a sigh of relief, along with the cloaked people in the bushes.
“Should we at least give them a note of thanks and tell them to call her Captain?” Sarah asked. Chad nodded, “I think we owe it to them to at least tell them her name. What do you all think?” Everyone nodded in agreement.
Chad quickly scribbled a note, and left it for the Bladebreakers.
Dear Bladebreakers,
We want to express our deepest thanks for taking care of Captain for us! We will never be able to thank you enough! Please feel free to ask her as many questions as you want, but please don’t be offended if she refuses to answer them. There are some things you’re not meant to understand, at least, not just yet.

“So her name is Captain huh?” Chief mused, “I wonder what questions she’ll be able to answer when she waked up?” He looked over at the sleeping girl. Without her cloak on, you could see that she had shoulder-length, wavy, red hair.
Just then, Captain started to stir, and she opened her eyes. “Where am I?” Then she spotted Chief. “Oh God, am I at Tyson’s dojo?”
“Oh course! After you threw yourself in front of Kai to prevent him from getting stabbed, Kai and Tyson brought you back here so a doctor could inspect you. The good news is the wounds aren’t fatal, the bad news is that it’ll take at least 3 more days for you to fully recover.” Chief told her, with a SMILE.
Captain mentally winced, ‘God, how can he be so happy?!’
Captain attempted to sit up, but immediately regretted it, because she got a sharp pain through her chest when she tried. Just then Kai walked in.
“Hey, you shouldn’t be trying to sit up so soon; you still need to recover…… Captain” Kai said smirking, surprisingly saying a FULL sentence!
(A/N: GASP! *falls over dead from heart attack*)
“Maybe I shouldn’t be---wait how do you know that I’m called Captain?!” She asked suspiciously.
Kai sneered, “We got a letter from your friends. Speaking of which, why were you following me?”
Captain just turned her head away from Kai, and stared out the window, “I don’t have to answer that ya know.”
Kai sighed, “Yeah I know.”
And they fell into an uncomfortable silence
…

…
That was very…awkward. (A/N: DUH!!!)

The senior Captain had just showed up at the warehouse. “Where is my Captain?”
“Sir,” Rebecca said timidly, “Captain’s been injured in the line of duty, and is now recovering at the Bladebreakers house.”
The senior Captain looked stunned, “How did she get injured?”
“Sir, she took 2 daggers from the enemy to protect the target.” Chad answered.
“Hmmmm. I believe that nearly dying for the sake of duty deserves a promotion, don’t you?” The senior Captain asked Captain’s lakies. (A/N: Yes, I love the lackies!)
“Sir, if anyone has ever deserved a promotion, our Captain does!” Sarah, Chad, John, and Rebecca exclaimed together.
“I thought so, so she’ll be promoted to a Commander. Now we have to tell her and give her, her new cloak.”
