Caeser 3 war story - edited version
Trouble in Sarmazi-something.
Ok, here’s how it is. Some disturbed native villagers have got bored of me, and attacked, but I had minimal loses. I’m excepting my 1st proper attack soon, most likely form Vis Goths (a type of army), so I put some walls and towers where the natives attacked from. I’ve also got a heavy infantry fort and a javelins fort in that area (which is the east, by the way,) which I’m feeling pretty confident about. I have also got another javelin fort in the south, (which from now on shall be referred to as southern javelin unit.) However, just to be on the safe side, I stick a calvaray fort on the west side of the map. By the way, these are all different types of soldiers. Javelins throw spear thing form a-far to take out the enemy, usually from behind heavy infantry. They are great attackers/defenders, but incredibly slow, and expensive. Calvary are very fast, but pretty crap fighters. Anyway, I put them on the west side anyway.
I’m glad I did.
Then, the invasion hit me. Unfortunately, it comes from the west, where my main farming industry is, and also where I get all my city’s food from. My cavalry unit is the only armed force on my side in the area, but unfortunately, the invasion is waaaaaaaaaaaay larger than I thought. So large that I did send out my cavalry, but kept them a safe distance. That way, the enemy wouldn’t attack so early… hopefully. I dispatched my other troops, but my infantry and eastern javelins probably wouldn’t make it in time. (Just goes to show what poor planning can lead to… sigh) My Southern javelins should reach the area in time.
Disaster! Well, not really. Despite being academy trained, (that makes them better and more intelligent), my eastern javelins decide to take the long route around the lake in the centre of the map!
The Visigoths don’t charge.
I decide to pull my cavalry back a bit further still, in order to give my other troops time to arrive at the scene. Also, my southern javelins are halfway there.
The Visigoths still don’t charge.
I decide, in order to save even more time, I draw my other units staffs back a bit too.
The southern javelins arrive on the scene just in time for the…
Chaaaaaaaaaaarge!!!
(That was a bit dramatic,) my cavalry take most of it, and my javelins hold up surprisingly well against the Visigoths. (Theyr’e poor fighters, remember?) OOPS! I forgot, javelins are rubbish in hand-to-hand combat, and soon start dying out. My cavalry aren’t looking too healthy either.
They need backup.
They get it.
My eastern javelins finish their grand tour of the lake and the native village and arrive at the battle scene, and start to dish out hurt.
Disaster! (Again)
A few of the enemy’s cavalry break free from the battle and head for young 2000 populated city! Looks like my town is done for, until
w00t-age!
My infantry have just arrived from the mountains, and have (just,) caught the Visigoths calvary! 4 of them finish them off, while the remaining 12 head out to war. By this time, My eastern javelins are down to their last men, my southern javelins have retreated and my cavalry completely gone, and my barracks is working overtime to replace my poor horses. Yay again for poor planning. My infantry swerve back and forth, stopping Visigoths from entering my fair city.
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
The remainders of the Visigoths have given up trying to enter the city and are now picking off my fresh cavalry units, who are too weak to fight back! My last eight infantry crush the Visigoths into dust! CRUSH I SAY!
I would like to salute the hard working
Men and horses who gave their lives in
Order to defend our/my young city. Next
Time, I shall order the barracks to scrap the
Horses in favour of tanks, the pila shall be
Replaced with weapons of mass destruction,
And the infantry shall be armed with machine
Guns. Our engineers are working hard to
Design these, or a time machine, whatever
Comes First.
If you STILL didn't understand it fully, just ask!
