This is what happens when I try a background and actually have the character interact. <_>
I found that my usual black outline sort of made it not look like he wasn't really there, so I just did darker colours of the colour he is... for what's being outlined. My style looks so different coloured... slightly well.
Whoo. I spent a long time on this, I hope it was worth it!

wow. this is really intense. i love the creature to the viewer's right, its transparency is just great. the tree itself is just gorgeous as well. I love suhi's expression and position, as well as the other creature's little grin and pose.
