This is one of a bunch of pieces I did for my Senior Seminar class last semester in which I "explored the personal significance and connection with a personal mascot or avatar I created for myself." Pretty much, I did a bunch of drawings of Lizardbeth that related to me in some way. While I don't have as close a connection with my character as many people in the fandom (she really IS just kind of a mascot, rather than actually being ME), I focused on that psychological stuff with my project and with my semester-end critique because that's what my professor wanted to hear. She's the "artsy-fartsy" type, and there's no other way I could see to make cartoons interesting or even remotely relevant to her Fine Art Gallery-oriented mind than to get psychologycal. But I digress.
This was the first one I did. It's super simple in it's meaning. The bunny balloon, based on the stuffed bunny that tends to pop up alot, is a representation of "my" innocence, naive-happy of my youth. The bee represents the harsh, scary face of reality, coming to pop the balloon. I have a huge bee phobia, so it seemed appropriate.
omg im sooo deep teehee

Yah, I have the same deal with any of my characters, the Squishy included. ~Points to Icon.~ People assume that it's "Me", when it's not...
Lone bees I'm OK with, it's when their plural- Bees- that freak me out. X.x

I still love Beth's lovely, flowing hair :) That bee does represent reality in lots of ways, doesn't it? Anything with a stinger or sharp pointy parts does
What's worse than a bee? Getting chased by the whole hive because your wayward cricket ball landed on their nest
