Chap12- lumos' lighthouce of battles!

“No… no! It can’t be!” Aero yelled in disbelief, I was close to laughing at his pain, but I’m a nice guy so I won’t, this time anyway

Nancy looked angry, and put her arms on her hips “now sug! There aint nuthin wrong wit sendin’ a member of yer own team on a mission he’ll do well in!” she yelled

Aero looked distressed, like a son being yelled at bye his mother “I-I mean h-h-he’s UNDER LEVELED! Yea….” he yelled in defense, Nancy’s so motherly she even can give a mom look to someone who isn’t even her son…

She dropped the look, but still looked annoyed “tha’s what Ah thought…” she said

And I hate agreeing with Aero but… “He has a point; I’m level like 6 or something him, and Emmy are level 13“

Diseree scratched the back of her head “and truth be told… I’m level eight…. Ehehehehe….” Oh gee that helped my self confidence….

“Well why not take ‘em to amphros’ lighthouse, he ‘n’ his employees of all types get bored easy” Nancy suggested

I did my signature confused look, and diseree cocked an eyebrow, at least I wasn’t alone

Emmy laughed “I can’t believe I forgot!”

“Forgot what?” I asked

She turned to me

“you see, because ampharos’ lighthouse is so important to port town, it’s become a pseudo-dungeon as in, if you collect any items in it, if you faint, and get warped out, you get to keep them; and the Pokémon aren’t insane; just employees, ampharos is a kind man, he allows teams to train inside; providing they come up and see him first” Emmy explained throughly

“Ah… I see” I said

Nancy began cleaning a glass with a clothe, “well, it be best if ya’ll headed out to it”

We all nodded, aero led us there, it was off a little path but wasn’t too far away, it was on its own little isthmus surrounded by large pointed rocks, well on the sea, not the land, the tower itself rose high, with windows, and made of brick, cement, and obviously was corroded bye old age and sea air, aaah, even though I should be scared being a fire type; it just felt all too refreshing…

“Well here we are!” Emmy said excitedly, and ran in, I rushed to follow, Aero sunk into the ground and diseree followed us in a rush

Now the climb up the spiraling staircase and floors was easy, and also the Pokémon who worked in the lighthouse where all so pleasant, friendly, and talkative…. To Emmy and diseree, they called me names, well, most of them, after Emmy explained me, they just reduced to dirty looks…

“Ahahaha… haa…. I hate being a Vulpix…” I said with a sarcastic joy tone

Emmy looked at me with an optimistic look “awww, don’t worry big bro, they’ll warm to you at some point…”

Diseree looked at a few “though that ‘some point’ may be a long time from now…” she observed
You know, diseree is the worst pep talker in the history of pep talkers

So we eventually climbed to the top of the lighthouse, which was a room full of clear, clean, and shiny glass windows and a huge mechanism that looked… oddly familiar; it could rotate and generate light for miles, across the dark sea at night, and there was also an alternate staircase, most likely to his place of living, but there was no Pokémon there… but how did I know that…?

“Aaaaaaaah…” I heard an old sounding voice say, as it emerged from that secondary staircase, shutting a door leading downwards behind him so he wouldn’t fall down it, the guy himself was a big yellow Pokémon with a white underbelly, black eyes that shined, they where beady that way, and its ears where cone-like with two black rings on each one, his arms like flippers, and his feet had but one claw on each , its tail was also long, near the end of it had black stripes and topped with a red orb, he then turned to us

“Why hello their youngsters!” he said with the voice of a man, I pegged him about a bit older then Nancy, due to him not trying to kill me because I’m a Vulpix

“Hey Lumos.” Aero said, phasing in using his Ghostly intangibility from the floor, which made me want to start sleeping with one eye open…

“Aaaah, Aero!” he said walking over “I see you got two new members, and that its team storm!” he said then proceeded to laugh

“Anyway, lumos, we need to train a certain member…” Aero said, pointing at me

Lumos cut his laughter but retained his friendly look “but of course, which one is it?”

Aero pointed at me “him” he said simply, and I waved “and her” Diseree waved

“What’s his level” lumos asked

“I-I’m level Six sir…” I said nervously, actually saying something in his presence…

“Level 8!” she yelled with confidence

He thought for a few moments, and then came up with something “alright…. I s’pose they could handle the easy course…” he said

“O-ok sir…” I said

“Psh! Easy?!” I wanted to harm her

He readied for something “OK! Easy course! Leeeeeeeeeeeeeets” –he said jumping up- “GO!” he yelled punching into the ground followed by his tail creating two bright flashes of white light, and then we all uncovered our eyes afterwards

“All set!” lumos said, and me and diseree walked into the newly revealed stair case, followed by aero and Emmy

The first thing I noticed is that I was in the lead position….

I was confused and turned to aero

“Hey, if you’re going to lead a mission, fox, I want to see your judgment as a leader” he said, with a look that says he knew I would fail; well I’m determined to prove him wrong.

The dungeon was filled with electric types, there where yellow ones, shorter than me and it stood on two legs, with red cheeks, black beady eyes, ears with black tips, and lightning bolt shaped tails, Emmy told me their called; Pikachu, and I began to learn about them…
They can attack us from long range using quick attack, however Diseree can use quick attack as well; I set her to follow up the rear; to be able to strike them first; I was able to put up a mental system of tiles; each tile being about six feet wide and six feet length, and Pikachu needed to be within 12 feet of us to get a solid quick attack, there were also floating iron ball like Pokémon with a single eyeball, two screws, that could be possibly used for feet, and two magnets on its right and left sides, called magnamites.

They were weak to my ember attack so I of course stayed in the front lines, and so I was in good position, I kept aero right behind me if a certain Pokémon came up; it was pink colored with awhile tip on the end of its tail, with a cream muzzle, and two small, dull fangs, its ears like curls and with a stupid look on its face, and all they could really say was its name

‘Slowpoke’

It was redundant; but aero could handle them so I if I needed to I would just swap positions with him, and I kept Emmy in the middle lines because she can’t really do many moves yet, but she can heal and be sort of like a team cheerleader.

Along the course of the dungeon, we found a few seeds, apples, berries, and defeated a lot of Pokémon; I leveled up ounce and learned a new move; roar it allows me to send a Pokémon flying back, pretty useful, gives us a chance to nail it with pointed sticks, diseree got a lot of experience, Emmy somehow got leveled down, doom seeds is what aero called them, but other then Emmy leveling down I was doing pretty good as a leader

As we went down further into it there started to be Pokémon that where 4 inches taller than me, where frog like in appearance with purple skin, black sits with its middle ginger being orange, a creepy smile, with yellow eyes, and what appeared to be bandages wrapped around its lower torso, called crogunk

Over the entire dungeon went very well...

That is of course; we got to the last floor

We arrived to it; and it was obviously just there for Lumos to meet us up, we took a rest in it lying down in various places around said room

“Uuuugh… that was a grueler… LETS DO IT AGAIN!” diseree said lying against a wall…

Emmy took a quick glare at aero and he sighed “ok fox you did great as a leader… heck better then my first time”

I smiled feeling all warm inside….

“Yea big bro… you did awesome…” Emmy said unpeply; Diseree said it was a side effect of a doom seed to make the eater act uncontrollably gloomy

And then there was an explosion at the north side of the room, we all were caught off guard and got into sudden stances

“HAHA!” a figure said, hidden by smoke “were in boys!” it said again with its cockiness

I’d estimate three people cheered behind him

“COME OUT!” I yelled in the most confident and brave voice I could do at the moment

What rolled in was a ball like Pokémon with two angry looking eyes, it was followed by a round mouse like Pokémon that was blue with a round ball at the end of its tail, and the third looking like a ammonite … and… yea basically that

“Hohoho, A fellow thief eh?” Said the orb like one, why does everyone think that?

“Who are you!?” Emmy yelled asked

“Who are we; the shinx asked omanyte?” the… omanyte I guess

The round mouse laughed “who are we?”

Then the orb bounced twice “WERE TEAM ROLLOUT! HERE TO CLAIM THIS PLACE IN MY BEAUTY!”

Diseree laughed “HAHAHAHA, BEAUTY!? IVE SEEN SLOWPOKES MORE PRETTY THEN YOU AHAHAHAHAA!”

The round ball bounced twice, angered “SHUT UP BOY!”

Oooh… that was a mistake…

“Ok team storm! Let’s get these guys!”

Aero, me, Diseree, and Emmy all shined our badges at the same time; causing two bright flashes of white, Aero told me we do this to create a little forcefeild around the area so oncoming civilians won’t get hurt

Diseree attacked first using quick attack to try and attack the orb, but omynte stopped her by wrapping his tentacles around her, Aero used leer on maril, and attacked with his claws, maril dodged easily bye bouncing on its tail and launching water gun at him, getting him soaking, the orb rolled backward using a ramped rock to get up in the air launching an electric attack, electrocuting aero and diseree, as soon as he was about to hit the ground I used roar on him, launching him into the wall, getting him stuck in a hole in the wall, I proceeded to help out diseree with omynyte who shot mud at her in a beam like way, launching her into a wall, I used a seed on him, he was suddenly put to sleep, diseree and I then double teamed him with tackles and scratches until he fainted, , voltorb uses another electric attack electrocuting me and diseree, but then I got all dizzy

“What’s happening…?”

And then I saw a vision, a vision of a strange, strange creature that had no fur, well except on his head, and wore clothe, was sitting in a chair attached to a desk writing something on a paper paying attention to a taller one in the front of class

“Now! Class lightning hits whatever’s the tallest in the vicinity”

One raised its hand

“Yes?” the one in front said

“So is that why when Benjamin Franklin sent out a kite with a key it shocked him?” he asked

“Yes, because it was made out of metal, a conductor”

It ended

I have no idea what it was, but it gave me the strangest idea, I took out a pointed stick, and a blue like version of it, which aero called an iron thorn, and a rope I tied the two non pointed ends together and threw the wood part at aero “CATCH!”

He caught it easy

“What’s the point!?” he asked

“JUST GET IT IN MARIL!” I yelled, and so he did Emmy didn’t like that part, and maril yowled in pain, I noticed the orb ready to launch an electric attack, and so threw the iron thorn up into the air, like that tall creature said would happen did, the electric attack hit the thorn and followed it down the rope, electrocuting maril causing it to faint, the fight was over, and we all surrounded around the orb


“Uh… hi….?” He said

Soon after officer starmie and a fleet of staryus where on the scene; arresting the team rollout

Lumos came in and hugged all four of us “thank you… for saving the light house”

I admit; he’s like a dad…. And Nancy was like a mom… I wonder if there was a connection

Anyway, we where given a reward, but we sent it to storage and put the money in the bank, and just went home and went to bed… but I lay awake staring at the ceiling

“What happened…?” I asked…

Well that was certainly something to boggle my mind over… but one thing bothered me about it…

The one that it mainly focused on… that strange creature….


Its hat looked like the one I wear now…
