Evolves into:
Was trying to think up some of the "common" pokemon of my region, noting first and foremost my abundant lack of water pokemon other than the required starter...
Wanted to make a box jellyfish, but then quickly realised that Tentacool is a box jellyfish. :/
Then I thought up a pokemon with a ceremonial floating lantern for a water/fire type, and was like HEY! I can make that out of the box jellyfish and still stand out from tentacool.
So I did.

Name origin = Lan/tern + ten/tacle. Nothing special.
